When it comes to Trump, I am no longer outraged by anything he says. His a $ $ hole behavior is just expected. Kinda sad so many so-called Conservatives find his behavior acceptable and even encourage it.
This is one of the key reasons the Republicans will lose the House and the Senate later this year. Mostly self-inflicted wounds.
Ah yes, the ol, "Republicans will lose votes if they don't cower before the democrats!" trope.
Trump is an ass. He is only in office as a response to democrats blatant corruption and the spineless republicans who let them run free or join them in corruption. I'd bet money none of you hand wringers said a damn word when W was shown as a monkey, repeatedly, and you didn't say **** when Trump was shown as an orangutan . **** your fake outrage.
Haha Trump is in office because his admin and sychophants has done an AMAZING job in convincing the poor and uneducated white man that the brown man .. and black man.. is responsible for their plight.
Why anyone else.. the educated or middle to upper class supports him .. that's for you to answer..
The irony of your post is I could ask you to name five policies of President Trump that you oppose ... and you cannot. But thanks for the silly Talking Points.

Typical-"I feel this way so it must have been true."
Obama's language was almost always careful and spoke for a united America. He certainly never did or said anything within the same universe as implying that a race of of human beings was sub-human.
I think what you are remembering is that Obama often used facts and legit history, which I know is difficult for many on this fourm to deal with.
The worst I can recall was the "clinging to their guns and religon" comment. That was condescending, although it turned out to be true. It was also not said when he was president, was not meant for public circulation, and Obama apologized. if you think he said something while holding officeanywhere close to as divisive as what the Trump post said, I would love to know what it was.

City folks are better at virtue signaling that they aren't racist, country folks are better at actually living with and befriending and having folks in their house, not like them. This has proven true in every small town I've lived in.

He mentioned anti-immigration, but it was all in the context of Rust Belt economic decline and saying why it was understandable that people in those communites were bitter. DT has the opportunity and the skills to do some great things for this country. He has already stepped in and facilitated some peace settlements between nations. But he just doesn't know when to stop when it comes to the rhetoric.
It's all so silly. And it really could lead to a problematic midterm, not to mention the next presidential cycle. It makes me wonder if now that he has become president again, and has got what he wants, does he just not care?
If he truly cares about this country you would think he would be thinking about its trajectory beyond his presidency. I would think that with the ego he has that he would want to go out as one of the greats.
But everything he does is overshadowed by his inability to filter. And he takes it to a whole new level when he gets into it with some silly entertainer.
The dude is apparently already worth 100 million dollars. I doubt he cares what DT thinks of him. And is probably thankful for this controversy surrounding his involvement in the Super Bowl because it will just get more eyes on him, and bring in more wealth. I had never heard of the guy until this whole SB story broke.

This part I will disagree with, he made the remarks at a Fundraiser in San Franscisco and he was being recorded. So of course it was meant for public circulation.Quote:
And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.
He was speaking specifically about small town Pennsylvania folks. Honestly a lot of this is wrong. Small town folks by and large are less racist than city folks. That is my "lived experience" as people like to say.
City folks are better at virtue signaling that they aren't racist, country folks are better at actually living with and befriending and having folks in their house, not like them. This has proven true in every small town I've lived in.
And listening to Mrs. Obama and her podcast she doesn't seem to do very well with liking people who "aren't like them". Which is really common and not that big a deal, but it's true.
All that said it was an off the cuff remark, he apologized and he hasn't lived in rural towns so that he would really know how small-town people really live. And certainly, it's not near as bad as Trumps garbage.
Not so sure on the small town racism thing-my experience is that soft racism is everywhere. But he wasn;t talking about racism per se in the remark. He mentioned anti-immigration, but it was all in the context of Rust Belt economic decline and saying why it was understandable that people in those communites were bitter. He was speaking at a fundraiser in San Francicso, much like Mitt was speaking to "his people" when he made his 47% of Americans don't want to work comment. The person who recorded the comment was an Obama supporter who who doing volunteer work for the Huffington Post. She did not originally release it, but then felt that even volunteer journalistic ethics called her to do so.
All to say, you are technically correct that it was recorded, But this was not an event open to the public and I am sure Obama was surprised to be recorded. He was trying to be empathetic, but came across as condescending. If I was living in the Rust Belt, I would not have liked it either. But when you are clled to speak a million times, you are going to fumble some.
I just do not see Obama as being intentionally divisive in the way Trump is.
Anytime a presidential candidate speaks to a crowd, even a friendly fundraiser, he better assume he is being recorded that the media is present and it is for public consumption.
It hurt Mitt much worse with his "binders of women" and "47 percent" comments. But any candidate better beware, that if they are speaking it is being recorded.
I will agree without reservation Obama was much more gracious and presidential in his public speech than Trump will ever be. Trump TRIES to rile up people. Trump is his own worst enemy when it comes to public speech because he just doesn't care and it is the job of a president to care.
He has chosen to have lap dogs and yes men to surround him. Every president needs some people around him to consult him in the correct path and rein him in, if he tends to be a loose cannon.
Good grief Trump is still rambling on about 2020 and nobody is stopping him.
Not any that can win.ATL Bear said:There are several better alternatives. This argument is absurd.30aBear said:
This is what you get with President Trump. He's not a politician and he also doesn't give a **** what a lot of people think. So we take his awesome policies and have to live with him sticking his foot in his mouth at times. Better than any alternative we have at the moment.

Portraying the Obamas as apes was just plain wrong. No amount of whataboutism makes it acceptable. Trump should have manned up and apologized.
Man **** the Obamas. They call me and half the country worse. Save that fake outrage for someone who didn't watch democrats try to murder Trump TWICE. He can post all the "Obamas are monkeys" memes he likes.
Speaking of silly talking points, name five policies of President Trump that you support......
