BREAKING: The Pentagon is confronting a growing reality after months of fighting in Iran.
America's stockpile of missile defense interceptors is shrinking so much that military planners are weighing whether they can continue the current cycle of limited retaliatory strikes.
Iran's strategy appears to be targeting U.S. bases, forcing the U.S. to deplete its advanced missile defense interceptors, such as Patriot and THAAD systems, and compelling the Pentagon to accept greater risk in defending U.S. troops as the conflict drags on. Iran appears to believe this is its best hope of outlasting the U.S. military.
I'm glad we are exposing the inability to ramp up production enough now, and not after a major move by China against Taiwan or elsewhere.
We'd be outproduced in a conflict with China right now.
Also better start looking for easier to mass produce alternatives as drone (and robotic) warfare expands.
I don't think China thinks like us. We keep spending on war. They're spending on growth and infrastructure.

In the US it's the private sector that drives growth. They've been disincentivized to do so when industry is moved overseas. The fix is not going to be fast or painless.
Infrastructure is a joint private public venture. Our reps have been a failure even in spending money on what they called infrastructure.

Just curious what infrastructure failures have you seen when the money is available?
The huge "infrastructure" bill in 2009 that in no way produced a significant amount of real work done per dollar spent
The rural internet and charging station expenditures the last administration
Can you think of any others that actually purported to spend on infrastructure not after a disaster?
I could have included the canceled pipeline to Canada that got scrapped, but it is a symptom of the avoidance of infrastructure spending that is needed.

Charging stations???? Talk to your boy Elon, he was the driving force behind electric. If you want to see how bad Elon is dug into the trough, read up on how Electric Vehicles won out politically when hydrogen was the better technology (Toyota is invested heavily in hydrogen, not electric.)

Rice is far more fertilizer-intensive than most crops on that list and concentrated in South/Southeast Asia, which depends on Gulf urea shipments through the Strait of Hormuz. The Iran conflict drove fertilizer and fuel costs up 25-40%, so farmers cut acreage and inputs.…
