I would argue the abuse of H1-B is as damaging as illegal immigration.

These people are taking jobs away from students just graduating college and are used to keep wages low below to rise in inflation.

The $100k per year H1-B fee was actually the perfect solution... which is why the Trump admin backed away from it because they've completely sold out to the multinational corporations.

But with $100k per year you are still getting the best and brightest but filtering out all the people brought over here to steal American jobs by paying them lower wages and using them as slave labor to work long hours without compensating bcs they need their jobs to stay in the country.

H1bs directly negatively impacted my ability to find employment when I graduated grad school with 6 figures of debt I needed to pay off.

The Walgreens and CVS's had imported and given H1bs to hundreds of Pharmacists from India, Pakistan, the Phillipines, etc to fill the talent deficit they were having when I first entered school.

Part of the motivation to go to Pharmacy school was the huge sign-on bonuses that were being offered due to the lack of candidates when I first entered school... by the time I graduated 4 years later the job market was over-saturated because the big companies had abused the H1b system.

I graduated over a decade ago now and wages didnt really go up to match the inflation we saw during COVID because these companies abuse the H1b system.

I guess my bottom line is the laws are broken because they are written to benefit the richest Americans at the expense of the middle class and **** the contributions of H1b Indians... they are thieves. If they were on average more talented than legacy American like myself, their country wouldnt be the giant gaping ****hole it is today. There is a reason no one want to live in India... I have a hard time even getting people to travel over there for a few weeks to audit facilities before inspections.

The H1-B Visa is constantly abused. I suspect there are < 100 legitimate H1-Bs. It should cost $1M to sponsor one - if they're worth it should not be a problem.
