Frank Turek is a well known Christian apologist who travels the US (largely to college campuses) with his presentation theme "I Don't Have Enough Faith To Be An Atheist" and also has a popular podcast. He was in Utah at Charlie Kirk's side when Charlie was killed.

Frank was to have presented at Waco Hall 10/5, but it was apparently postponed. I have included below the text of the email that I received as an email subscriber to his CrossExamined.org emails.

Anyone know what's up with this?

============================

Chartered in 1845 by the Republic of Texas and affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas, Baylor is both the state's oldest institution of higher learning and the world's largest Baptist university. Part of their mission statement proclaims: Baylor is founded on the belief that God's nature is made known through both revealed and discovered truth. If that's the case, why did Baylor put roadblock after roadblock in the way of my presentation tonight about why Christianity is true?

There's too much information to share in this email or in a social media post, so I'll be revealing the full story, as well as exposing other corruption happening right now at Baylor, on Friday's podcast. So stay tuned!

In the meantime, please note that this event has been postponed until further notice.

Blessings,

Dr. Frank Turek

Because Baylor has become just another overpriced, run of the mill, liberal institution where critical thinking and diverse ideas that don't bow to wokeism are not allowed.

Getting more and more sick and tired of what the wokie Okie and her influence has done to our once proud university. It just gets more and more shameful.

The Ratio Christi fall event was postponed by the student organization due to security costs, which per Baylor University policy are the responsibility of the hosting organization.

University policies for student-led events require submission of documentation well in advance to determine the support needed to ensure a safe, caring and educational environment for all students, faculty and staff. Ratio Christi did not submit this documentation as requested by University staff on several occasions. As a result, security costs associated with Waco Hall could not be determined until late in the planning process. Upon receipt of the full security estimate, the student organization decided to postpone, rather than work with campus leaders to identify a different and possibly less expensive location.

We understand this is a disappointing outcome for those who were scheduled to speak and attend, and campus leaders stand ready to support our Ratio Christi student leaders on another event in the future, provided appropriate info is shared in a timely manner.

As an academic institution, Baylor is committed to ensuring open dialogue and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives. We hold this commitment along with an obligation to provide a safe and nurturing educational environment within a caring Christian community.

Seems like Left wing terrorism drives up the cost of having conservative style speakers on college campuses

It's silencing of free speech by driving up the cost of allowing it in public

There's a proven track record of controversial speakers coming to campuses, not understanding/reading the university's terms and having to cancel and then blaming the university because it goes over well with their fanbase.

Thanks for the explanation, Jason, but the truth is too simple and not what people want to hear.

In simple terms, there is a simple reason for the postponement. It's unfortunate that it doesn't contain the words "woke," "libtards," "left-wing terrorists," or "Dumocrats."

And it's unfortunate that the reason will be lost on people who respond to such words like Pavlov's dogs to a bell.

But the fact is the truth doesn't fit your preferred narrative.

Sorry ... no, not sorry at all.

Wrong.

You may not have noticed that my post did not include any of those insults your imagination added.

The problem is the apparent trend of charging conservatives more and adding additional conditions, than for progressives, on the notion that conservative speakers, on zero evidence, are somehow riskier or more dangerous than progressives.

Your sloppy attack posts and unimaginative insults don't suddenly change facts.

Just because someone, somewhere, sometime, hurt your sensitive feelings buttercup, does not make your pile of crap post any less rancid.

Just admit you like two standards, when conservatives get their appearances cancelled but not progressives.

Jason Cook, who I do not know, took the time to address the original post. His post was informative and contained not a hint of rancor. Your response to him was stupid.

So you then claim, without evidence, that conservatives are charged extra and treated differently.

And claim that I am the one with double standards.

Good one, snowflake.

Thanks, Jason. I'm disappointed that the event was not able to be held as scheduled and maybe it will be at another time. I'm also disappointed that the blame is being assigned to a student organization whose purpose is to promote why we as Christians believe what we believe - which is exactly what I would think Baylor would want to promote. It's unfortunate that Baylor could not offer support to this group and help pull off the event.

I understand the need to appear being fair to all groups, but when Baylor University cannot find a way to share the gospel with those that need to hear it makes me sad.

I know that the world has changed a lot since I graduated from Baylor 40 years ago - it's a shame that Baylor has felt the need to change along with it.

I look forward to hearing Frank's side of the story on Friday.

Why is it Baylor's fault that the student org messed up and didn't submit the required documentation on time?

Was the security estimate in line with other similar events? If so, then the student group is clearly at fault with their planning and execution. If the security estimate was higher than other similar events in the same facility, then there could be a problem with assessing security for different groups.

Maybe there was a grade penalty for late submission!

Re-reading it, it sounds like the Ratio organization never submitted the documentation to determine security costsdespite being asked multiple times.

I'm sure every other speaker/group that has had an event in Waco Hall provided the necessary documentation without issue.
