So it is an outrage to use a candidate's family in an ad?
That Acton chick is a certified fabulist loon - totally incompetent nut job. Proves women cannot handle pressure - she'll pull a Lindsey Clancy on Ohio.
Indeed, she is a leftist nut, but it's all about the feelings for voters nowdays.
That said, it was a poor political calculation by V.
I still am trying to clarify - is it a "sin" to have family members speak out against a candidate? Is that forboden?
No but attacking people's families to hurt the person you are running against is a major turn-off for most normal people.
So I am genuinely curious. Do you actually believe a family was attacked. I can never understand if the LWNJs are actually morons or just dedicated to weird Talking Points.
So, I'll ask again: is it wrong to cut an ad with a member of a candidate's family criticizing the candidate?
(we know you cannot answer because LWNJs never can answer specifics, but I like to ask just to demonstrate that again)
First time I've been called a LWNJ on this board before LMAO!
The ad sucks brother. Dont die on this hill.

While not inherently wrong/illegal, I'm honestly surprised this ad isn't universally condemned from both sides.
This is the testimony from a mother who lost custody of her children following serious allegations of sexual abuse and has been estranged from her daughter for nearly 50 years…

Not forbidden. In this case, it is stupid. Hitching yourself to a woman who chose an abuser over her children? Good call, there Vivek.

IMO this is the dumbest political ad I've ever seen and it says more about Vivek's lack of judgement than anything else. I think Acton is a bad candidate, even somewhat unstable, but this ad almost guarantees she will be the winner.
They bring on a woman who hasn't seen her child for 47 years, a woman that sided with her pedo husband who assaulted her own child. What kind of freaking idiot would approve such an ad.

In fairness, I do not believe her stepfather was ever convicted of assaulting Acton. I just think we should stay rooted in facts. Not that her mom was "Mother of the Year" - cannot imagine choosing a boyfriend over your child ... but Acton also seems like a fabulous fabulist.
If not obvious, I have not position on the ad, but it annoys me that Democrats do this all the time and the left-wing media is silent but when a Republican does it then it becomes a national hysteria.
Mahoning County Court records show that @amyactonoh's stepfather was arrested & charged with sexually abusing Acton, then 12 years old...After pleading not guilty, he posted bond and fled, becoming a fugitive of the state until his death in 2004.

If thats all it was, then no, its not, im sure both sides have done it before. What matters here (as im sure you know) is the context.
The "Mother" here let her 12 year old Daughter be raped by her Husband and then joined him in fleeing the state, abandoning both her Daughter and her Son. By all accounts, she hasnt met her Daughter since she was a young Teenager, so has no idea whether she is a Liar or not.
So all this ad is doing is using the false testimony of someone that condones rape and paedophilia.

I volunteered for Trump 2016. I voted for the man 6 times (three primaries, three general elections). He has turned into an existential threat to the nation with this unnecessary war on Iran. I can't emphasize how critical it is to install a congressional majority in November that will remove him from office before he can make this bad situation he has created worse. Unfortunately, purging him and Susie Wiles are the only solutions here. Neither will listen to reason.
Can you expand on the existential threat Trump supposedly poses because of Iran?
This is not a full-scale war. At this point, we're talking about occasional targeted strikes, not an invasion. Do you believe he is about to commit American troops to a major ground war? If so, on what evidence?
I am no fan of this conflict, and I think Trump's performance over the last couple of years has been fairly poor, with the tariffs being among his biggest blunders. But I think you may be acting a bit like a drama queen here. Calling Trump an "existential threat" to the nation over a limited military action seems wildly disproportionate to the facts presently available.
I suspect this is really all about Israel for you.

Actually, it does. Once a warrant is issued, there aren't "warrant police" chasing dudes around the country. The way people on the run get arrested is by committing another crime (speeding, etc.) You should remember, this is still 1970s, 1980s technology in play. Integrated state systems didn't come into play until the 1990s.
