Mueller isn't saying he is guilty. He is saying he has evidence a crime was committed, but he cannot indict a sitting president. We cannot know he is guilty unless he has a trial.

Barr says Muller said that. Muller sent Barr a memo that says he misrepresented his findings.

"It would be unfair to potentially accuse somebody of a crime when there can be no court resolution of the actual charge," Mueller said, after all but stating that Trump committed a crime for which Mueller never charged him. Just as Mueller's own words today prove that he didn't want his team's report to speak for itself, the report itself proves that Mueller and his team don't believe it's unfair to accuse somebody of something a court cannot resolve.

If they actually believed that, then the 240-page volume II of their report on their obstruction investigation of the president would never have been authored. After all, according to Mueller's own statement, such an operation would be patently unfair. And if it's unfair to air dirty laundry against a target who was never charged, surely it's doubly unfair to do so in writing and on camera during a press conference whose mere existence refutes the very claims of its host.

Nationwide bar rules governing all practicing attorneys in the United States also explicitly prohibit Mueller's display during Wednesday's press conference.

"The prosecutor in a criminal case shall refrain from making extrajudicial comments that have a substantial likelihood of heightening public condemnation of the accused," states Rule 3.8(f) of the American Bar Association's rules of professional conduct.

Mueller said that the indictments "contain allegations and we are not commenting on the guilt or innocence of any specific defendant."

"Every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty."

Had he stopped there, he would have been correct. But then he crafted a brand new standard.

"The order appointing the special counsel authorized us to investigate actions that could obstruct the investigation. We conducted that investigation and kept the office of the acting attorney general apprised of our work," Mueller said. "After that investigation, if we had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said so."

According to Mueller and his team, charged Russians are presumed innocent. An American president, however, is presumed guilty unless and until Mueller's team determines he is innocent.
You can get the entire report on Amazon for 9 bucks. Read it. It's all there. Don't be afraid.

You will find so much gaslighting on these threads I'm surprised there hasn't been an explosion.

They also think white men are under attack despite the fact that POTUS and VicePOTUS are old white men and so are most senators, the vast majority of governors of various states, most CEOs, most investment bankers, a majority of federal judges and most state judges.

Incorrect charge from Jinx. I call out liars, but only liars for lying. I have disagreements with people I do not call out, because they are making honest statements even if I disagree. I also address the point until and unless someone demonstrates they are only there to be a turd in the punch bowl, like quash.

Deliberately making false statements is lying. And I call them out when I see them.

By the way Jinx, I find it fascinating that you seem to enjoy the parts where I support feminists' struggle, but ignore the fact that many women do attack and persecute men.

4 things:

Bob Mueller is afraid of being asked precisely what day he knew there was no collusion. He knew immediately. So why did he extend the investigation out for 600+ days?

The intelligence community assessment that Russian's interfered to help Trump is Garbage. Not that they interfered, but interfered to help Trump is complete garbage. Mueller knows the declassified emails between Comey and Brennan are going to show that the ICA was based on the DOSSIER (which is fake).

Mueller states the only reason they didn't charge Trump was because he's the President. That is not what Bob Mueller told Bill Barr. Either Mueller is lying or Barr is lying.

Mueller suggested congress impeach the President. He's supposed to be unbiased. ****ing disgusting.

Here Barr is under oath saying "Special counsel Mueller stated three times to us in that meeting that he emphatically was not saying they but for the OLC opinion he would have found obstruction."

So someone is lying....

....and Barr also testified to Congress that notes were taken (MEMORIALIZING) of the conversation with Mueller.... . He can prove he's telling the truth and there are witnesses.

I am sure Trump and AntiTrumps have mixed feelings about this. Mueller gives me the impression of a guy just doing his job, and trying his best to stay clear of the politics. He will answer a subpoena from Congress, but will decline to answer questions beyond the purview of the report. Democrats have a decision to make...

I found him to be very clear. It's not his job to charge the president. There is a constitutional process for charging a president with a crime.

He could say it if he wanted to. In the special counsel report put out on Clinton they specifically stated he committed many crimes. Mueller never said that about Trump

It's amazing how naive some are that don't know the whole story as BU alums. The truth will hopefully continue to come out. It's already been proven this was a fake investigation started by Strzok to cover up Hillary's crimes and to try and frame Trump. They couldn't find anything but are now upset that Trump got upset that he was being investigated for literally nothing but a made up story.

That is one thing I will give the Dems. They are very good at being corrupt knowing the media won't ask tough questions or hold them accountable. It's why Barr getting to the bottom of this is so important for our country.

Mueller stated exactly what was already in his report .

Dems are going to interpret it the way they want.
Republicans are going to interpret it the way they want.

Regardless in this country one is presumed innocent until proven guilty.....even mean ol Donald Trump.

And Mueller gave the Dems no clear evidence .....of any crime.

Dems might go ahead and impeach.....but try as they might the public already knows its merely a political stunt.

And there is no way in the world the Dems can muster up enough votes in the Senate to convict .

So it's all merely dumb theater .
