Given the speed of transmission right now and the fact that it is not detectable when first communicable, I would suggest that it will be a matter of months before it's a world wide issue.
How can that be? OldBear said this is still a contained virus.
I never said COVID-19 was held to one country. News flash, you cannot hermetically seal a country or region from a virus.
What I said was that a lot of the media hysteria was, and is, complete BS.
But that's not what you said. At all.
2/25/20 @ 9:47am, BearFan33: "Is it fair to say that we have lost containment?"
2/25/20 @ 10:16am, OldBear83: "No, that would not be a fair statement."
That's because your posts are littered with so much conflicting information it's impossible to make sense of it. I'm not sure you even see it.
The question was asked by a poster if containment had been lost and you clearly wrote "no, that would not be a fair statement." Proceeding that statement was a hodgepodge of finger pointing, blaming the media and comparisons to the flu (which is a battle your currently fighting with another poster elsewhere in this thread).
You concluded your post, once again, by doubling down on your claim writing "...it is reasonable to say that containment is demonstrably working."
The irony is, the very source you cite states the numbers are both conservative in nature and rely heavily on Chinese reports -which just a few posts prior you said could not be trusted.
Your posts are a mess of conflicting information. You can spin it or try and back away from it anyway you want, but the premise and intent of your post was perfectly clear (while admittedly hedging yourself somewhat,) in that the virus was contained -despite the CDC and other reputable agencies stating otherwise.
