CNN felt compelled to run an article yesterday about Georgia having over 1,000 new cases on the day the shelter in place order was lifted. Now Georgia has had over 1,000 new cases a day multiple times, early, middle, and late in the month of April. I have to ask why now it was important to mention it since all of these cases would have been infections that occurred during shelter in place measures?
The US also had our 2nd highest day of new case infections since the tracking began. The majority coming from the usual suspects.

There were 623 new cases and 8 deaths reported today in Georgia. I'm sure CNN will be running a follow up article on the miraculous reversal from yesterday.
This man's voice, like John Ioannidis', is important because history is full of consensus opinions that proved over time to be wrong. But I do think it's important to point out that these are minority views from men with no stake in the game. If they're wrong, who cares? They're just random scientists sharing their opinions with news outlets. I don't think it's a coincidence that those with the most actual risk here are almost universally taking a more cautious approach. That doesn't make them right, but you're talking about gun-to-the-head decisions vs. early round quiz show answers in terms of the stakes involved here.Jack and DP said:

But their round, black-topped stools in Virginia remain as empty as they were nearly two months ago when the coronavirus first shut down the country.
There are a lot of towns in our country that border neighboring states, but few quite like this one, where the town sits in two states and shares the same name and traditionally vibrant business district along State Street.

The new Mrs. Whitetrash (a/k/a txturtlegirl on the premium board) and I had lunch at the table next to the cactus where the 2 chicks are sitting (one with her purse on the back of her chair, one with the waterbottle under her chair) on March 15, the day after our wedding and just before the world shut down. It was an improvised honeymoon after we (wisely) cancelled our planned trip to New Orleans. It was the last normal thing to happen.
