You certainly have the pharisee's act down pat.
I believe it was Jesus who was the subject of so many malicious attacks such as yours. Fortunately your viciousness is not directed at me (not being a part of the "left") but I think it is important to stand up for those who aren't here. You direct so much rabid anger at the "left" needs a response, which is not good for your own heart.
You need to read your Bible again, particularly the behavior of John the Baptist and the rebukes of Christ. Rebuking evil is part of our commission as followers of Christ.

I am not vicious for all your claims, but just someone warning a drunk driver that the bridge is out and he's headed for bad things. I am fully used to said drivers calling me names because they don't like the news.
Demeaning others is just not "rebuking evil," that's pretty hilarious. You are the one posting vile venom, malicious spiteful hatred, rabid demented viciousness.

With all due respect, and whatever one may think of his posts, he is not the "one" posting vile venom, malicious spiteful hatred, rabid demented viciousness.

I think we all know that you try to assert some sort of patriarchal authority over people you disagree with by calling them son, which sort of implies "you little squirt, I squirted you out into your mom."

It's as old as the hills, and contains the intellectual honesty of the 12 year old XBOX Live gamer saying "you might have beat me, but I effed your mom last night, sooo......"

Not why I say that, son.

It's a matter of maturity, not an attempt to channel an inner child as your posts seems to do.

I think we are all stressed by the current situation, and maybe we can/should cut each other some slack, but not everyone can get off their high horse and act like a mensch.

If you want to really see who is guilt of what, see who is using actual profanity and actual vulgar insults. Hint, I am not not always courteous but I am nowhere near some of the sewer-level stuff that gets posted here. Not saying you do that either, although your last post was frankly cruder than you should want to be as a reputation, but come on, you know the level of filth that gets posted here, and 80% of it comes form the Left.

But it is. Nobody says "son" to strangers unless they want to provoke something. You know better than that. I flat out don't believe you.

I actually have a pretty fresh perspective on this politics board. I have posted on sports here and on the old forum for years, but rarely come here. It is a disgusting place. The past few weeks, probably because I have more time, I started reading, and I will admit, the amount of backwardsness, ignorance, depravity, and un-American posting I saw here made me mad, and I definitely made some rageposts that in hindsight, did not convey anything I wanted. So if I need to apologize for that, I do. That was not good.

No matter the content of my posts, or anyone else's though, calling people son is a way to let them know they are less than you. You know it, I know it, TexasScientist knows it, we all know it.

You are way too sensitive. Maybe you could focus on the substance of the post, not just look for something to get mad about?

I certainly agree that the Politics board is not always polite, but the regulars know everyone, and we have very few who are genuinely spiteful. For the most part posters here are good people who sometimes cut loose with some written venting. I know that because the same people calling each other names are quick to ask how the others are doing in times of disaster like tornadoes/hurricanes, and there are a couple good threads here where everyone is hoping the best for everyone else.

And sorry if you don't like being called 'son'. I explained why but I do not owe you an apology for a civil choice of words that is only insulting if you insist on being insulted, especially when you ignore much worse from others.

TLDR; it's just words along with some good thoughts, and you are focusing on the wrong parts.

(this is in response to the second of the two tweets)
'reportedly'? Please explain that to us.

Biden said Obamacare needed to be fixed.
Bloomberg called it a disgrace
It's failed miserably as every Democrat on the debate stage said there are parts of it that needed to be fixed. We all know their gameplay was to go single payer.

that's nothing to do with this, Obama set up a unit to prepare for the next disease outbreak and prevent it from becoming an epidemic or pandemic, Trump disbanded it, now the actual decision to do that, whilst it has evidentially misfired, isn't what i'm calling him out on, its hard to predict these things (though that is why this team was set up in the first place).

I'm calling him out for lying about how noone could have seen this coming and how he inherited a "broken situation" he inherited a team that could have seen this coming earlier than anyone else and planned for how to deal with it, but he disbanded it. He couldn't handle being blamed for that, so decided to lie about it, its what he does, he takes credit for his successes, but whenever he fails or does something he shouldn't, he ALWAYS tries to shift the blame, his rampant narcissism cant handle anything Negative being said about him.

Wow. What a complete and total fraud you are. Obamacare was set up to fail so that the USA (**** you Brit) would have to go to single payer. Not a single member of Congress read the bill prior to voting on it. Not one, despite Obama's campaign promises of posting bills online. Yet, like a prison rape with NO LUBE on Christmas Eve, the Democrats shoved it up America's ass.

What the **** do you know about this law Redcoat?

Again, you keep mentioning Obamacare, *** has that got to do with this point, you xenophobic imbecile?

No, but you should at least search out the truth before commenting.
i literally posted a tweet from Trump and a video of Trump, is he lying? (i mean, it wouldnt be the first time) did he not disband the department that would have been tasked with spotting and preparing for this epidemic , sure, he didn't fire everyone involved in it, he moved some of them around and gave them different positions, but that doesn't change the facts and he then goes and lies about it and blames Obama..

The man is a Narcissist, he lies consistently to try and protect his image, hes not the only politician to do this, sure, Politicians on all sides are dishonest, but Trump likes to paint himself as a man of the People and fighting against the "Swamp" of DC and the "Fake News" when he is just as bad and probably worse than the people he is going up against.
1. Who is Aaron Rupar?
2. In the first tweet, where did he lie?
3. In the second, tweet, where did he lie?
4.He did not disband the department, it was reorganized, but you anti-Trumpers will fault him no matter what he does or says
5. There is alot of Fake News
6. Suppose he is lying, would me calling him out on a university message board satisfy you?

1: A Journalist of some kind

2: I said in my OP, i was just talking about the second tweet, i didnt mean to post both of them

3: He says repeatedly that "noone could have seen this coming" and he "inherited a broken system" when there was a unit specifically designed to deal with this kind of situation that he disbanded and moved some of its members to different departments, as is his MO, he shifts the blame to try and preserve his reputation

4: He disbanded the Department, no, not everyone was out of a job in it and they got moved around, but the fact stands that there was a specific department, created by Obama, set up to prepare for these kinds of events, and Trump decided it wasnt needed. To be clear, its not the decision to disband the department I have issue with, it was judgement call, its been proven to have been the wrong call, but one could put that down to bad luck, its the blatant and obvious lies (another hallmark of Trump) that i am pointing out.

5: Sure, ironically, most of it coming from the camp that cries "Fake News" all the time

6: It would mean that some of his supporters arent oblivious to the blindingly obvious, so that would at least be mildly comforting.

I would bet good money that those who call it the Wuhan Virus, Kung Flu or some other variation of the same theme are statistically more likely to spread the virus given that the partisan leanings of the former match those of the group that was telling us for weeks that COVID-19 wasn't a big deal and that everyone was just overreacting.

Many in the media and govt were telling us those things. Vox, motherjones, daily beast, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer all told us we were being xenophobic and the virus was not much worse that the flu. This virus is a bioweapon that China accidentally or purposely unleashed.

I am not presenting them as a choice, binary or otherwise. It is an observation.
They are not unrelated, both have to do with reactions surrounding the pandemic.

Well then it sounds like you would be better off if you left his particular board, son.

Again, no intellectual honesty. Instead of addressing an argument head on, you try to reduce it to something below you. I should just make a copypasta for you, you're the same tired trope over and over.

Take your own advice, son.
Somehow I thought you would say that. LOL
Consider the title of this thread, after all.

Just own that you were being condescending.

No grown man wants to be called "Son" by a stranger. I assume you know that. And if you don't, you should.

No OB83. "Son" is a put down of black men. I learned that notion in the summer of 1968 as a playground director in the summer. We had a multiracial. I could a young man "son" and then I remember my Black History course. We had read of put down if blCks. Boy is included

Why are you like this? No. Not everything is racist or sexist or bigoted in some way. Grow up.

Another swing and a miss by Waco. Speaking of baseball, I recall a veteran umpire in our Gulf Coast chapter who referred to anyone who mis-stated a rule as "son", including umpires who were older and some who had more experience than him.

It's an idiom, nothing more. If you see it as racism, then you have a problem aside from your opinions on a discussion board.
