NIL allows college athletes to profit from their name, image and likeness going forward. In what will become a growing trend across the college sports landscape, businesses are trying to figure out ways to set up win/win partnerships with athletes to promote their businesses and allow the athletes to make extra money.
Visiting Angels in Waco, Texas is owned by a group of avid Baylor supporters. They are the first local business to take advantage of the new NIL legislation by setting up a meet and greet with Matthew Mayer from 12:45pm- 2:15pm on Monday July 5 at their offices on 1514 Austin Avenue in downtown Waco. Fans can come by and take pictures and get autographs with Mayer during that time.
Jacob Neubert, a former Baylor basketball player for Scott Drew who is an owner/executive director in the business said, “We are excited to promote our business in this way and also help Baylor athletes. We know that Matt Mayer is going to be playing basketball for a long time and the ability to work with him to promote our brand made sense.”
Many who follow the college athletic landscape have described this development as the Wild West as businesses scramble to strike deals with visible athletes.

So glad for Matt, and I am glad that visiting angels of Waco is such a supporter of BU athletes/athletic but my mom was very unhappy with their services.
