The No. 3-seed Baylor Bears and Scott Drew are set for a Sweet 16 matchup with No. 11-seed South Carolina on Friday evening at Madison Square Garden in New York. The game is set to tip at 6:29 p.m. CT and will be aired live on TBS.

The game between the Bears and the Gamecocks is the third meeting in the last four years with Baylor winning the previous two at home in November of 2014 and then on the road a year later.

To reach the third round of the NCAA Tournament, USC defeated No. 10-seed Marquette and No. 2-seed Duke in their home state of South Carolina. The Bears, who traveled to Tulsa for their first and second-round games, defeated No. 14-seed New Mexico State and then No. 11-seed Southern Cal.

Drew met with the media on Wednesday prior to leaving for New York. Here are a select 10 quotes from his media session in Waco previewing Baylor's fourth Sweet 16 game since 2010.

Keys to playing well versus South Carolina...
"You have to be able to take care of the basketball which has been something that’s been a challenge for us at times. The second thing is if you take care of the basketball then they do a great job rebounding."

On the defensive success of both teams...
"That’s the goal for both of us is to get stops. They just get more of their stops with turnovers where we get more of our stops with rebounds."

On South Carolina's athletic ability and length...
"When you get in the paint and you’ve got a bunch of 6-5, 6-6 guys with length either guarding you or coming over to help and then two bigs that come over to help, it just makes it more difficult."

What has made Baylor successull in the 2016-2017 season...
"Our bench is why we’re good. It’s the leadership-chemistry that allows the depth to take over because some games guys play more, some games they play less."

Junior forward TJ Maston's success early in the tournament...
"TJ has had big games and we know when he gets going he’s tough to stop. What I’ve been really proud of is he’s done a great job rebounding, his defense has been really good, he’s been a good teammate."

On advancing deep into the tournament again...
"We’ve been blessed to advance. We’ve played some great teams that had some great players."

What he learned about his team last weekend...
"That we’re getting healthy and that we haven’t gotten selfish. Why we’ve been successful all year is when we’ve been all in. We’ve listened to the upperclassmen. They’ve had good chemistry and supported one another."

How much previous experience in the Sweet 16 helps this season...
"Every experience you can learn from and have wisdom and knowledge from. At the same time, it doesn’t guarantee you anything."

On the similarities between South Carolina and WVU helping preparation...
"It helps from the standpoint that they’re very physical and aggressive defensively meaning you’ve got to play through contact. They have a very high fouling rate, so that means you have to be ball strong with the ball for when they’re not called."

Facing SEC Player of the Year Sindarius Thornwell on defense...
"Thornwell, SEC Player of the Year, but defensively 44 steals in conference.  Does such a great job anticipating. He’s like a safety back there."
