Baylor (3-0) will host No. 14 Iowa State (2-1) at McLane Stadium on Saturday afternoon in the first Big 12 home game for the Bears in 2021.

Dave Aranda: “Within the football phase of it, it allows you to play complimentary football, get the run establish, to have a play action pass that looks like it and put people in conflict, and gives you the ability to play all four downs, because you're talking about fourth and one and a fourth and two, as opposed to a third and 13. It just gives you a more balanced, comprehensive approach to things. But seeing the confidence in the guys, the offensive line, and tight ends for that matter, they've continued to improve as well, just blocking. Long ways to go, but like what we've done so far.

Craig Smoak’s Players to Watch 

Iowa State — Running Back Breece Hall 

ISU’s biggest offensive threat, period. Hall has a touchdown in all three games this season and averages around 100 all-purpose yards rushing and receiving, which has been a slow start for the ISU offense before last Saturday. But, as Baylor learned the hard way last year, Hall’s capable of a whole lot more. The x-factor of the Cyclones offense, his performance, will play a decisive role in Saturday’s outcome.

Baylor — STAR Jalen Pitre

Like Iowa State, Baylor has its fair share of playmakers on defense. Pitre and Terrel Bernard are the standards in Waco. We know both will factor in heavily on Saturday, but I think Pitre’s versatility and nose for the football is something that could tilt the result in Baylor’s favor, akin to Mike Rose for the visitors. Pitre’s first career interception, also his first career pick-six, came against Brock Purdy and the Cyclones a year ago.
