Positives

  • Mayor of Morgantown stepped up tonight and really set the tone early and often (20 points, 4 steals, 4 rebounds).  No one loves Morgantown like the Mullet man.
  • LJ Cryer, Adam Flagler and Dale Bonner were terrific in the absence of Akinjo.  12 assists and 6 turnovers amongst them.  Cryer (25) and Flagler (14) scored timely buckets.
  • Great job on the glass, although the final rebound tally was even (36-36).  The Bears controlled the paint and that was the difference in the game.
  • 7-0 away from home and 6 of those are against top 75 competition.  The Bears are 8-2 in Quad 1 and Quad 2 games currently.  Definitely #1 seed resume.
  • Total team win- Brown and Thamba were quiet in the scoring column but had timely buckets and did a good job on defense and on the glass (14 rebounds).  Jon had 7 rebounds.
  • Coaching was fantastic, I Ioved how Drew & staff managed the foul situation.  Don’t foul your best players out by sitting them on the bench too long!
  • Clutch free throw shooting (9-11) including 3-3 from the Mayor of Morgantown.

Needs Improvement

  • Free throw defense.  We need to see more Gabe Osabuohien at the line and less of the other guys.  WVU went 13-16 (81%).
