Positives

  • Good second half from Adam Flagler (16 points)
  • Kendall Brown had a solid game (12 points; 8 rebounds; 3 assists)
  • The season isn’t over, hopefully we can get Cryer healthy and start practicing together
  • Bench at the end went on a 8-0 run to make it look more respectable.  Shout out to Kijana Love for hitting his first 3 pointer at Baylor and Mitchell Paul for his lay-up.

Needs Work

  • After getting crushed on the glass in Lawrence last year 48-28, we get beat 46-37 on the glass this game.  And that was a lot of rebounds late, we got punked early and often.
  • 0.78 points per possession, woof.  That's really bad offense.
  • Got absolutely destroyed in the paint by Mitch Lightfoot, Jalen Coleman Lands, Jalen Wilson and Christian Braun.  They were 21-25 from two.  That’s losing basketball.
  • KU's wings of Agbaji, Braun and Wilson had 51 points and 26 rebounds compared to 21 points and 18 rebounds for Mayer, Brown and Sochan.
  • Akinjo had the worst game of his college career (0-11 FG).  Got outplayed by DeJuan Harris for KU who only had 2 points but 7 assists and 3 steals.
  • The mental toughness and readiness of Baylor seemed lacking from the opening tip.  Very surprised at the effort today, reminiscent of Oklahoma State in Waco.  This team has been very erratic the last 8 games.
