Baylor women’s basketball was named the No. 2 seed in the Wichita Region by the NCAA Tournament committee on Sunday evening. The Bears are the No. 5 overall seed in the tournament.

Baylor will play its first two games of the NCAA Tournament in Waco and is set to face No. 15 seed Hawai’i in the round of 64 on Friday. With a win over the Hawai’i, Baylor would face the winner of Ole Miss and South Dakota in the round of 32.

If the Bears advance to the second weekend, Sweet 16 and Elite Eight contests would be played in Wichita, Kansas.

Baylor is now a No. 2 seed for the fifth time in the last 10 tournaments. Three of the last four times Baylor was a 2 seed, the Bears reached the Elite Eight. They also reached the Elite Eight six of the last seven tournaments altogether.

The Bears dropped the Big 12 tournament championship game to Texas earlier Sunday to enter the tournament with a 27-6 record in Nicki Collen’s first year.

Baylor won the Big 12 regular-season championship outright with a 15-3 conference record.

You never know when a tired, uninspired performance will come up and bite you in the hind end.

But we were going to have to work for a banner regardless.

Surprised we were punished that much by the loss in the B12 Tourney Final. Oh well, not much difference in the 1 and 2 seeds, especially on the women's side.

Except now we are on a collision course with Michigan, who has our number.

Of course as it worked out they would not have had to explain it had they left us at two, but on TV, Holly Rowe asked the committee person about Baylor and Louisville. It sounded like the committee didn't think Louisville did anything that warranted them being demoted to a two (they were one at last reveal). So, today's game may have had no effect. But they also mentioned in Louisville's defense about how they beat Notre Dame......big deal....a 5 seed or worse, I think.

We've played Michigan twice lately. The record is 1-1. And when we played them this year, we were just getting together as a team and with a new system. You just play who is in front of you. There have been several teams in the past that we should have had a team's number.....and we lost before getting to the Final Four.

This is…honestly an easy bracket to the E8…

Shake today's game off and play as we did before, and we easily make the Elite 8.

I believe we have a good route to see Louisville or Tennessee. Hawaii watching them now they have no post at all like none. Ole Miss Tony coached them I know they feast off defense and they have a dominant Big in Austin. She is not like Lee she is mobile and can move. Also Lewis has played them a ton and will know what is up with them. Michigan has not been playing their best as of late. I believe they had a injury to the leading scorer from our game if i am not mistaken. But i believe we are playing way better then we were in December and we don't want to lose to them. Louisville if we get them it's gonna be show them how we are better and deserving of the 1 seed. We get a Sarah and Van Lith match up that will be fun if you know our recruiting history. This will be fun and I don't think we have it as bad as we think we do. Let's show up give them the support in Waco and let's make it crazy. I love this team 1-0 6 more times let's go!!!
