WACO, Texas – Baylor equestrian has earned the No. 6 seed for the upcoming 2022 National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) National Championship, as announced Tuesday by the organization.

This year’s national event is set for April 14-16 at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Fla.

The Bears will face No. 3-seed Texas A&M in the quarterfinals on Thursday, April 14, at a time still to be determined, as part of the single-elimination team bracket. BU split its regular-season matchups against the Aggies in 2021-22, taking a 12-7 victory in Waco and dropping a 10-8 contest in College Station.

Baylor has advanced to the postseason each year since the program’s inception in 2005-06. Last year, the Bears reached the NCEA semifinals for the first time under fifth-year head coach Casie Maxwell after upsetting No. 1 Auburn in the quarters.

BU finished the year at 7-7 and earned the No. 4 seed to the Big 12 Championship, where the Bears placed third after defeating Fresno State in the consolation meet.
