As always, keep track of both the stats and roster countdowns in the Offseason Hub!

George Maile was a big get for Eric Mateos and Dave Aranda in the 2022 class. Maile, an offensive lineman from Utah, is entering his first season at Baylor and has all of his eligibility to use.

Apu Ika and George Maile are already friends off the field.

He is listed at 6-foot-3, 300 pounds, and according to our Travis Roeder, his technique is really far beyond what most have out of high school. He doesn’t look far from playing. Maile looks like a guy who really understands how to play OL, how to get leverage on guys, and how to finish blocks. He plays with really good feet and hands in pass protection, and he won’t be a guy you can bully on passing downs. Travis expects Maile to be a starting guard for two to three years and thinks he is above average at all the necessities in the Grimes scheme.

Coming out of Bingham High School in South Jordan, Utah, Maile was ranked a four-star prospect by 247 and SicEm365. He was considered the No. 16 interior offensive lineman in the country and was the No. 2 offensive line prospect in the state of Utah, according to 247. Maile committed to Eric Mateos and Baylor over USC, UCLA, BYU, Utah, and TCU. He also cited his relationship with Apu Ika as one of the reasons he came to Baylor.
