72 Days till Kickoff: Baylor’s #72 Mose Jeffery

Mose Jeffery is a fifth-year senior offensive lineman from Longview, Texas. Jeffery transferred to Baylor from Kilgore College prior to the 2020 season. I believe he has another year of Covid eligibility if he elects to come back. One of the biggest battles going into fall camp will be between Jeffery and Micah Mazzccua for the starting left guard position. While at Baylor, he is majoring in health, kinesiology, and leisure studies.
Colt Barber had this to say about Jeffery going into spring ball in 2021, “He has the potential to be a powerful interior player and fits very well with Grimes’ scheme that calls for the entire unit to be violent and physical. Believe it or not, most of Baylor’s offensive line personnel that was recruited by Rhule fits better with the Grimes’ wide zone scheme than Fedora’s scheme. Jeffery was part of those OL prospects that were identified by Rhule’s staff out of Kilgore College.”
Jeffery ended up missing the 2021 season due to injury but played in four games in 2020, which included two starts. One against Kansas in the season opener and one against Oklahoma State.
The two years prior at Kilgore College, Jeffery was the anchor of the Rangers' offensive line. He was a 2019 First-Team All-Conference selection. He helped lead the team to a 10-2 record and a Heart of Texas Bowl win in 2018. He was graded at 85% with 54 knockdowns. The Longview native was ESPN’s No. 7 junior college offensive lineman in the country, and he committed to Baylor over Iowa State, ULM, and Texas State.
