On April 2, Christian Morgan traveled to Chicago to compete in The Opening regional at the Chicago Bears facility. The Porter, Texas, safety ran the 40-yard dash in 4.56 seconds, finished the 20-yard shuttle in 4.03 seconds, recorded a vertical jump of 42.8 inches and threw the power ball 43.5 feet.

His ratings score of 144 not only was the best of the day, but it was the best in the country. Fast forward to June, and Morgan's score still tops The Opening's national leaderboard as he and the other 165 qualified athletes nationwide prepare for The Opening finals July 28 through July 3 at Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon.

Roughly a month after his trip to Chicago, Morgan ended his recruitment with a commitment to Baylor. He committed on May 1 and was the fifth player in a 24-hour span to give the Bears his pledge.

In the latest "Six Pack of Bear," Morgan talks about his success with The Opening, why he committed to Baylor and what the fans should expect out of him when he puts on the green and gold. As a sidenote, he also gives his prediction of who will ultimately win the NBA Finals.

YOU'RE COMPETING AT THE OPENING IN LESS THAN A MONTH WITH THE NATION'S TOP RATING SCORE. WHAT'S THAT LIKE?
"It feels good, but at the same time, I know it's time to work even harder so that it can transfer to the football field. I've just been working hard and staying humble."

YOU'VE BEEN COMMITTED TO BAYLOR FOR A MONTH NOW. HOW IS EVERYTHING WITH YOU AND THE BEARS?
"I have a really close relationship with the whole Baylor coaching staff. I've texted every coach at least once. Having that relationship with them, I think it's big because they're expecting big things in the next couple years. Even with the 2017 class, they're expecting a lot. I definitely think we'll be working on winning a national championship in the next couple of years. [Defensive coordinator] Coach [Phil] Snow is a true defensive coach who knows his stuff. He's a real student of the game."

I KNOW YOU HAVE YOUR EYE ON A COUPLE PLAYERS TO JOIN YOU AT BAYLOR. WHO HAVE YOU BEEN RECRUITING THE MOST?
"It's definitely been Anthony Cook. That's my dude. We're both from Waco. Every time I get the chance, I'm definitely in his ear to get him to come. Basically, he's a dog. His technique, his physicality ... he's got the whole package. He definitely would make a nice teammate."

MATT RHULE HAS BEEN ON THE JOB ABOUT SIX MONTHS NOW. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT YOUR FUTURE HEAD COACH?
"To me personally, he's one of the realest coaches I've ever talked to. If I ever need him or texted him, I know he'd respond literally in one or two minutes. He's always open 24/7 for a conversation. Atmosphere. Prior to Junior Day, I had no intentions of going to Baylor. It was his welcome speech that won me over. I had no prior knowledge of Coach Rhule, but after hearing him speak, I looked at my dad and said that he's the real deal. I really enjoyed him and left impressed."

WHAT SHOULD FANS EXPECT OUT OF CHRISTIAN MORGAN?
"Definitely a lot of excitement and lot of passion on the football field. I play with a lot of passion each play. At the end of the day, dubs [wins] are the only thing that anyone cares about. I'm a big competitor; I love to compete. That's what Baylor fans should expect from me."

LAST QUESTION: WHICH TEAM DO YOU WANT TO WIN THE NBA FINALS: CLEVELAND OR GOLDEN STATE?
"I'm going to have to say the Cavs. Kyrie [Irving] is clutch in the fourth quarter."
