2023 BAYLOR FOOTBALL RECRUITING COMMITMENT LIST
This past season at Hutchinson C.C. he posted 18 tackles, 1.5 for loss, and a fumble recovery while helping lead his team to a NJCAA National Championship appearance.
There were two things that stood out to Baylor defensive line coach Dennis Johnson about the massive nose tackle prospect, “power and explosiveness”.
It is clear the staff needed to find a nose tackle or two this offseason as they are set to lose Chidi Ogonnaya and Jaxon Player to graduation plus Apu Ika is likely going to go to the NFL Draft early.
This means the current roster would have just one true nose tackle, true freshman Tre Emory. This position is being addressed in the 2023 class with the additions of DK Kalu and Brendan Bett but they still need some veteran experience at that spot. The addition of Boykins addresses that need.
