#12 Baylor (9-2) puts another solid defensive effort in beating Northwestern State (8-4) 58-48. Jalen Bridges led the Bears with 13 points. Dale Bonner chipped in 11 points, 7 assists and 3 steals. Next up for the Bears is Nicholls State on 12/28.
Positives
- Great to see Jalen Bridges break out of a 2-27 three point shooting slump. He’s 2 for his last 2. He played an amazing overall game, locking down defensively and 7 rebounds.
- Dale Bonner continues to impress, what a luxury to have a player like him. His defense is terrific. He does a great job creating for others (7 assists). He has 3 steals and finishes with 11 points.
- Free throw shooting continues to be in a positive trend (8-11).
- Team defense holds Northwestern State to 0.79 points per possession.
- LJ Cryer’s defense also needs to be applauded. I thought he and Langston Love were really good on that end of the court.
- Caleb Lohner gave us great minutes- 149 offensive rating
Needs Work
- Tough night at the office for Langston Love and Keyonte George on the offensive end, but Love’s defense was good. Keyonte had some key defensive lapses in the second half.
- Three point shooting needs to be more consistent (8-25) and now below 36% on the season. We should be a 40% three point shooting team.
- Defensive rebounding, we are 202 in that area. It needs to improve for us to reach our goals.
