#7 Baylor (22-8; 11-6) controls the game from opening tip to final buzzer against Oklahoma State (16-14; 7-10). The Bears never trailed in getting their 8th win in a row in Stillwater.
Three Positives
- Never trailing in a game is a positive. The Bears started fast, built a 67-50 lead and converted when it mattered. Gritty backcourt performances from Dale Bonner, Adam Flagler and LJ Cryer on both ends of the floor.
- Outscoring OSU at the foul line 17-5. The Bears have been great at getting to the free throw line all year and this game was another example of that.
- 1.21 points per possession against a team that is top 20 in defensive efficiency for the year.
Three Needs to Improve
- Obvioulsy giving up 22 offensive rebounds is a ridiculous stat although as Jared Hamby pointed out on the podcast, OSU didn’t convert those 22 rebounds to a lot of points.
- Finishing games. You are up 67-50 with 3 minutes left, you should not allow that margin to get under 10. But road wins are never easy.
- Still giving up a big margin of points in the paint (34-18).
