Flawed roster. The EJ injury and Sochan being a year ahead of schedule put us behind the 8-ball, and then a portal miss at the forward spot left us with an unbalanced roster.

Couple that with a couple of below average defenders on the perimeter, and this wasn't the team preseason expectations suggested they were.

It's a bummer, because if we had just found a way to pull it out tonight, we had a clear path to the Elite 8, and a puncher's chance at another Final 4. I'm hopeful next year's squad has better balance. We'll need some hits in the transfer portal.

I can . they're in my Final 4..in fact other than Tang that's who I want to win. Mark Few is a good guy and that program deserves it .

You can keep the freshmen. I don't give a chit what they do in the NBA 5 years from now. Gimme an experienced PG out of the portal who knows how to control tempo on the offensive end and play tough D on the other. I'll take that over any kid who is gonna be here for 1 year and his rating is based upon projected performance 5 years from now.
I said this last year.

I don't even want the one-and-dones. They're frustrating for the one year you have them and don't help you win in March.

Sochan was very helpful last year. IIRC, he did find great things vs UNC, especially during the amazing comeback effort. Brien contributed as well, but not as much. George is not another Sochan. To be fair, he was sick earlier and apparently is still recovering from the ankle injury.

Get some ballers in here and show some flex on this "person over player" culture thing. Do your best to keep them inside the lines and worry more about remaining relevant year after year. Big new basketball arena depends on reloading and not rebuilding.

Sochan wasn't recruited as a one and done and wasn't a 5 star, like KB and KG. He earned his way to a one and done. His initial strategy when signed was that he wanted to play 2 years here.

I do not care how good or bad our defense was, their shooting was absurd tonight. That is a tough way to go out.

And all you idiots on here, "our guys don't care, they don't try, Drew can't coach, etc." please get a life. You are ignorant.

Our team had flaws, and tonight showed many of them. We will be back. We are really spoiled now. It was just not our night.

I usually want the teams that beat us to go all the way. Creighton, not so much. I did not care for their attitude much; from coach to #11 and especially #55.

Anyway, shooting like that is VERY hard to beat, when we have no inside game at all.

In hindsight, the Sochan situation was the killer in my mind. He fits the perfect description of the piece this team lacked, including his intensity which I think may have become infectious with the others.

Cryer was 4-11 from 3....the rest of the team 1-11....ouch

If y'all want to watch a team with heart and fire, put on the Fairleigh Dickinson game. That team has half the talent of most of the teams still playing, and plays twice as hard.

One of this teams flaws was there was clearly no on court leadership, and that meant everyone didn't keep their head in the game and quit when things got tough.

We lost because Creighton wanted it more. It was clear we didn't really want a tough win all season. Maybe Gonzaga?

I have no problem with guys off the NBA radar who earn a draft pick with their play as freshmen. I don't want the guys who come in expecting to leave after Year 1.

You just never know which Baylor team is going to show-up. Time to put this team in the pasture and hit hard the portal.

If these no name schools can get players just as good if not better than ours, why can't we find them......

This team had no prayer of reaching the Final Four.

You can't win four straight games against high level competition playing defense the way we do.

We helped them get hot by leaving the 3-point line uncovered all night.

Good-shooting teams can hit wide-open 3s, and we give up a ton of them.

The 2021 season was incredible. We've also gotten bounced in the 1st and 2nd round of the tournament in 5 of the last 7 tournaments we've been to.

I don't like the change in recruiting strategy. I think it gets away from what made us successful.

This is the elephant in the room. Balancing it is key. The culture is just a little too soft right now. I believe you can succeed with positive culture and support it. But nothing wrong with some fire

Can't win in college bb without a point guard. We didn't have one this year. Also can't win without great defense and we didn't have that this year either. I would also say we didn't have a capable offensive post player either and that's important if not imperative.

Disagree on "no prayer." We win tonight, and we're beating Princeton, no doubt in my mind. Give us 4 days to gameplan how to match up against their very orthodox scheme? Meanwhile, they can't gameplan themselves into having better athletes.

All it takes is getting hot from deep in the Elite 8 game from there, and you're in. It's not likely, but it's not no prayer, either.
