Why would Cryer want to leave? This is big.

No. It's not. He's a great scorer. How many guys on the two teams competing for the NC remind you of him?

Great shooter. No defense. No rebounding. No distribution.

Against teams in the Sweet Sixteen or closer to a NC, he might hit a few shots but….can he defend, rebound or create?

Seems to be a good guy. Wish him luck.

I want a 6' 5" bad man playing his position and knocking someone trying to drive for an easy layup on his backside.

Over rated. Great shooter, maybe best in college but every other aspect of game is average or below-average.

How can someone you call "maybe the best shooter in college" possibly be overrated? Be realistic.

I won't get into the overrated/underrated discussion because I don't see the point, but it's basically the same conversation we had with Brady Heslip for years. When you're a great shooter and poor at everything else (ball-handling, passing, defense, etc.), it does put a hard cap on your overall value. And unlike Heslip, who we could hide in a zone, Cryer's defensive shortcomings get exposed on virtually every possession because of what we now ask our guards and wing players to do on that end.

LJ is an elite shooter and a good overall scorer, but many of us spent all season complaining about his defense. And without two ball-dominant guards beside him, we'd likely be complaining about his ball-handling and passing, too.

I don't want to dump in the guy because he is very good on the offensive end, and he'll put big scoring numbers for whatever team he plays for next year. But it's not revisionist history or sour grapes to point out that his flaws are as glaring as his strengths.

If we can get longer at that position and improve on the defensive end, we can sacrifice some of his scoring and still end up a better team in the long run.

This has nothing to do with his skill or Baylor. He is a very good scorer that's looking to get paid. And he will go to the highest bidder and get his money.

How does that make him overrated? No one has ever claimed he's a good defender or distributor. Just that he's a phenomenal shooter and a good scorer. He is what he is. You don't think he brings enough, and you're not alone, but I've literally never seen anyone on these boards claim he's a complete player.

It's a loss. The replacement will not contribute at his level. Without Flagler we would have been blown out in our last game this season.

Every year college players who are driven can make huge leaps. We are losing our best scorer (top 10 nation wide) who could also have markedly improved in all other aspects.

For whatever reason, he is transferring. Of course, duh, he has no NBA future, just like Matt Meyer. He might have a Euro ball future, but even Euro ball is going for bigger, stronger guys.

Cryer was a GREAT high school, and very good college player. He had Baylor as his second choice coming out of HS. He wanted to go to Purdue. Maybe he'll wind up there. Good for him. Thank you LJ, for what you have given Baylor. Go for the money, and go for what makes you happy.

Baylor needs defense. Baylor won the NC with defense.

Take a look at Connecticut, UCSD and the others. How many of them had a 6'1" guy playing 30 minutes....scoring 20 and giving up 20, or more?

Baylor has plenty of guards on the roster, and coming in. Baylor this year DESPERATELY need a bad boy....think the guys we've had in the past (2021??) who made player have second thoughs about driving the lane. Heck, we need TWO of them.

I hope LJ transfers somewhere where he makes $250k a year and averages 25 PPG. Good for him.

I hope Baylor fills his spot with a BAD BOY.
