Keyonte George NBA Draft Green-Room Invite and Possible Landing Spots

With the Denver Nuggets capturing their first-ever championship on Monday night, the NBA Draft is all that’s left in major Men’s basketball for the season.

The draft is June 22nd in Brooklyn and Baylor’s Keyonte George just received a green room invite per Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress

But how early could George hear his name called next Thursday night? While Keyonte has a good chance at being a lottery pick, there’s a chance he could fall lower (and perhaps into a better competitive situation).

Let’s take a look around some NBA mock drafts:

Sam Vecenie of The Athletic has George dropping down to Miami at No. 18 overall. That is the lowest I’ve seen him mocked, though Vecenie lists Key’s range as anywhere from No. 10 to No. 25.

Miami would be an interesting landing spot. As with anywhere in the NBA competition is fierce, but George’s strong point of offensive creativity is something that the Heat don’t have in spades. Plus, Erik Spoelstra is one of the best coaches in the business.

NBA.com compiled a consensus mock draft covering just the lottery (top 14 picks). Keyonte’s most common landing spot was New Orleans at No. 14 with Oklahoma City at No. 12 as a close second. George did miss the lottery in some mock drafts that NBA.com compiled but he also went as high as No. 8 to Washington.

The Ringer and NBADraft.net both had George heading to New Orleans while CBS Sports had him going to Utah at pick No. 9.

The other Bear who remained in the NBA Draft this year — an all-time great Baylor guard — Adam Flagler is teetering on the edge of being drafted. If he really impressed a team during the pre-draft process, it could pay off with his name being called in the second round.

The Athletic had Flagler landing with the Wizards at pick No. 57 and NBADraft.net had him as high as pick No. 45 to Memphis.

I would be surprised to see Keyonte fall to 18, but he could do a lot worse than ending up on the Heat. I don't remember seeing Dwayne Wade in College, and Dwayne was 3 years older when he went pro, but there is a lot to Keyonte's offensive game that will look familiar to Miami fans.

Why wud his draft be a surprsie tho? like George is a 6-foot-4, 190-pound guard from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. He is a gifted scorer who can shoot the ball from anywhere on the court. He is also a good passer and rebounder for his size.
