After 2 minutes, Dave seems like he's from a completely different era.

"I hate to hear these words I'm saying"

And in and on. No clue what it take to coach 18-22 coming out of America's education system but this doesn't appeal to me. At all.

Thankfully for him, I'll never play for him. It's just so weird to hear. I wonder if any other coaches have this attitude, tone and demeanor and can be successful.

Football to me is war. I couldn't imagine hearing this drivel when attempting to destroy the person you're up against or be destroyed

I suspect we'll Be the ones being destroyed a lot going forward, as we have under this regime in the past

Someone should really coach Dave to quit saying "appreciate that" to every question asked.

I guess none of it matters at this point but man you just want to grab him buy the collar and say man the fk up bro. You're a sugar bowl winning coach. Your team takes on your persona. As any team does from a leader.

He by his own admission is very, very cerebral so it can't be a surprise that he essentially said his players were overthinking. Doubt they will buy him out so Dave has got to evolve himself and in some ways it has to be wholesale, but if it's not utterly genuine in a way as fans we really don't expect or think possible then they aren't going to complete. Texas Tech lost, but they competed to the end. TCU lost, but they competed to the end. Baylor didn't. I know we scored some here and there, but it wasn't we get hit and we hit back. I thought it was so clear the whole team is taking on the cerebral nature of their head coach and that won't win. If it can, Dave, show us, please. If not and if Aranda can't genuinely evolve himself in a way that's completely bought into it will be a long, long season. This may be the only week to try to get ahead of it. If not, the team won't sell out in a useful way. Not sure what the game with Utah holds, but just compete like crazy. Then Long Island has to be a solid performance AND A WIN. After that just compete all year. I doubt the results will be more than fair, but a team that competes is fun. Whether you liked Rhule or not, his teams played hard and competed. Rhule at least at Baylor got the players going in the way a head coach has to. It's a very, very hard game and the players need to play free and we need to hope playing free they have the talent to compete.

How bout saying we got our asses kicked by a better team with more talent. The cerebral crap can only go so far.

The sentiment wears off when you repeat it every question. I agree it's corny and young college players need some fire. You would think with that demeanor you would excel in teaching but the technique and on field iq of this team is beyond bad

Listening to him on the radio driving home he sounded like an NPR host.

As boring as watching mustard and pickle colored paint dry.

Sunday School teachers are great ppl, but they shouldn't be coaching a P5 college football team.

Dave also gets way (said for Dave) into the esoteric analysis of what's happening. He's one of those people you keep In the back office that delivers value but doesn't get recognized because others market themselves better and take credit but doesn't mind because he's more comfortable being in the back office. They exist everywhere. They are needed.

He's just in the wrong spot on the bus. And he's taking us over the cliff.

We are in trouble as a program to say the very least and now very obvious. Aranda is a fraud. Not as a man, but as a football teacher and equally important, as a leader. I wish him well; but elsewhere. What we we saw in 2022 and now 9/2/23, was low to no energy. We saw no to low confidence. We saw the team take on the personality of the Head-coach. It's one thing to always have the lesser of the two QBs every Saturday, but it's another thing to be out worked, lethargic, and lack competitive fire. #everybodyshomecoming

That's a great comment " I appreciate that". All the HC's I viewed Saturday were involved with their coaches and damned involved with their players……. Dave's arms were crossed and he seemed to be looking for the Pizza Man…. Hahaha what a Joke……

Shame on Mack for sticking us with a trainee. A power 5 school giving someone a chance to learn on the job to be a HC and paid handsomely to boot. Four year internship is over.

According to GJ's relative they are paying him $1.1 as HC…what we pay CDA $5 million…… what a waist
