I'm sure he's jumping with joy at the thought of leading this explosive offensive attack

You can guarantee that the negative recruiting will be out in full force, and I really don't blame them. Not sure what our metric for success is, but a six win season looks probable, and even an eternal optimist would have to think that Aranda's seat will be hot going into next year

Jeez Frickin Luiz!!!! Our recruiting folks do understand that private high school athletics in TX is not the same caliber as in Louisiana or California, right? I am so done with these clowns.

We are the only P5 offer for our quarterback commit for this current class. Other than us, his next best offer is Liberty.

PapaBear, while you are generally correct about the relative quality of private schools in Louisiana and California, there are many big-time prospects who come from Texas private schools so the conclusion you draw about Texas private school football is largely unfounded.

For example, to make an obvious reference, Shadeur Sanders played TAPPS divisions 3, and Louis Cine who was a 5 star who played for Georgia also played for the same private school, as did the 4 star kid McCutcheon who played corner at A&M. Every year Texas private schools have 3 and 4 star players who excel in college. The Brockemeyer kid who was a 5 star who went to Alabama and now plays for TCU went to private school in Fort Worth. I could go on and on with examples of talented players from Texas private schools.

You also probably make the common mistake of thinking that Texas private schools are very small schools. Many Texas private schools, however, would be 4A or 3A schools if they were public schools. Quinn Murphy's school in Austin played the 4A state champion runner-up Wimberly a few years ago and beat them by 27 at Wimberly. The next year Austin Regents beat 5A Pflugerville Connelly at Connelly by 34 points.

In short, you have to look at the school and not make sweeping generalizations about talent, especially in Texas.

We don't have the OC and QB coach to attract top QB talent

Murphy is the #1 rated dropback QB in his class for the state of texas. He also has offers from Michigan and Miami as a sophomore. There is a pretty strong argument that he absolutely is a top rated prospect.

Good observation, but a dropback QB needs an OL that can maintain pocket integrity.
