OL, Ishmael Wilson (6-5, 310) | Lancaster (TX) Bishop Dunne
— I searched awhile to find a video clip on YouTube of Wilson during one of his starts as a junior in 2016 but was unable to do so. But the most important thing to note about Wilson is he started 12 games for the Bears at left guard, the place where Baylor is still searching for their final solution in 2017.
— When this list was created I expected Wilson to solidify a starting position by the time his number was called, but that isn't the case. However, unless Sam Tecklenburg is on a different level, I still somewhat expect Wilson to claim that starting position by the time the season gets started or shortly there after.
— One of the biggest complaints regarding Wilson in his first two seasons with Baylor since transferring in from Texas A&M was his excessive personal foul penalties. Was that in direct relation to an attitude issue? Every team needs a mean, tough enforcer in the line up and Wilson could be that, but he will need to leave the 15-yard penalties behind.
— In a world where Matt Rhule's staff has dropped the size of most players on the roster, Wilson is one who moved up to 6-foot-5, an inch increase from last fall. Not that it means anything, but it's at least interesting.
— At the end of fall camp, the answer will be clear whether Rhule and George DeLeone have pushed through to Wilson. Rhule recently stated that Wilson had a string of his best practices of the fall, something that is definitely a welcomed sight. If he continues at that rate, Baylor's first-string offensive line will be more than formidable.
