PREVIEW: No. 19 Baylor Women's Basketball vs. Southern
The No. 19 Baylor Bears are set to host Southern on Monday night at 7:00 p.m. in the Ferrell Center.
This will be the first of just seven home games (excluding the exhibition against Harden-Simmons) to be hosted in the Ferrell Center this year. The remainder of the schedule will be played in the new Foster Pavilion, set to open on January 2, 2024, when the Men’s team hosts Cornell. The Women’s team will play their Foster opener the following night, January 3, 2024, at 7:00 p.m., where they will open up conference play against TCU.
Monday night will mark the third meeting between the Bears and Southern; BU leads the series 2-0, with both wins taking place in the Ferrell Center. The last meeting occurred on December 16, 2020, where Baylor won 86-52. This will be the first time BU will face Southern in the Collen era.
Baylor will likely look to sophomore guard/forward Darianna Littlepage-Buggs as she led the Bears in scoring Friday night in their exhibition against HSU. Littlepage-Buggs put up 21 points for BU, with 12 points in the third quarter alone.
