Positives

  • Shot it extremely well (67%) including 19-30 from 3 point range.  The 1.6 points per possession was the best offensive output in Baylor basketball history.  Mississippi Valley State plays at the slowest pace in the nation.
  • You love to see the 3:1 assists (27) to turnover (9) ratio.  RayJ Dennis with 7 assists and only 1 turnover.
  • Ja’Kobe Walter had a great overall floor game (26 points; 4 rebounds; 5 assists; 0 turnovers).
  • Jayden Nunn and Langston Love with terrrific outputs (combined 7-7 from 3 and 30 points)
  • Good to see us take care of business without Yves Missi (held out for precautionary reasons).
  • Shout out to Julius Denton who made the first bucket at Ferrell and Miro Little who made the last bucket there (a 3 pointer).
  • Dantwan Grimes continues to impress me, he plays with a lot of poise.
  • Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua gave us some great energy and minutes (10 points)

Concerns

  • I’m not reading too much into a game like this but I want to see Bridges more active on the glass and driving it to the bucket against bigger players.
  • Josh Ojianwuna needs to be more of a presence as a rim defender and rebounder.
