Five-Star Guard VJ Edgecombe Announces Final Three Schools

Long Island Lutheran (NY) five-star guard VJ Edgecombe‍ announced his final three schools yesterday. The list included Baylor, Duke, and Kentucky.

The Baylor staff offered him following his strong performance at the Sportrader Showdown in Las Vegas this summer. The 6-foot-6 prospect averaged 23 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.4 assists during the event.

Edgecombe took his official visit to Baylor on October 7th. He took other official visits to St. John’s, Kentucky, Duke, and Florida.

The five-star guard has been one of the biggest risers in the country as he went from being ranked No. 153 in the nation in March to being a composite top-five player in the class in November. Currently, he is ranked as a five-star prospect and the No. 5 player in the 2024 class according to 247’s Composite Ranking. On3, ESPN, and Rivals have him as the No. 5 player in his class.

Baylor has already signed five-star forward Jason Asemota‍ and four-star point guard Robert Wright‍ along with unranked 7-footer Noah Boyed‍. According to composite rankings, Asemota is the No. 31 ranked prospect while Wright is No. 29.
