Positives
- These close games are great for March, build resilience. You always prefer to learn lessons in season versus post-season.
- Three point shooting was good tonight, 12-23.
- Loved the effort on the glass, outrebounded Iowa State 36-31.
- Good defense when it mattered, the Bears limit ISU to 22 made field goals, the zone was effective in the first half.
- Down 61-54 after giving up a double digit lead, the Bears showed a lot of mental toughness down the stretch.
- Jalen Bridges had a highly efficient game (169 offensive rating), also 3 steals
- Loved seeing RayJ Dennis and Jayden Nunn make a high percentage of their open 3s
- The crowd was amazing. What a homecourt advantage Foster Pavilion is.
Needs Improvement
- Iowa State is a foul you every play and know the refs won’t call every one type of team. The Bears have to be tougher with the ball, 20 turnovers shouldn’t happen at this point in the season. So many unforced errors.
- Jeb Hartness should never do another Baylor game again. Absolutely pathetic from him, he really lost control. He let TJ Otzleberger whine all game and then throws out three technicals on our bench. I highly doubt Scott and John did anything that would warrant it.
- Free throws... we almost lost that game by missing free throws. Have to get better.
- Awareness, Iowa State got downhill late in the game and threw their bodies into defenders. We settled for jump shots too much until very late in the game. Have to understand when the foul count is dramatically in favor of the visitor that refs are human and will even it up but you have to force them to do it.
