Baylor's Jayden Nunn Sweeps Big 12 Men's Basketball Weekly Accolades
Baylor's Jayden Nunn swept both Big 12 Men's Basketball Player and Newcomer of the Week after leading the Bears to wins over No. 25 Oklahoma and West Virginia.
The junior guard continued his two-week tear through Big 12 play, averaging 23.5 points on 15-23 (.652) shooting in the pair of wins. Nunn got off to a blistering start against the Sooners going 6-of-8 from the field, including 4-of-5 from three in the first half. He continued his strong play in the second half, netting a pair of three-pointers en route to a Big 12 career-high 27 points and a season-high eight field goals on just 12 attempts (.667), along with three steals.
Nunn took his show on the road scoring 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting in a 13-point win for the Bears in Morgantown. He added four assists, helping the Bears get six players in double figures for the first time since Jan. 25, 2023, against No. 8 Texas.
The junior transfer from VCU recorded back-to-back 20-point games for the first time in his career. Nunn's big week continued his upward trend in Big 12 play, as he is averaging 17.0 points in his last five contests, while he averaged 9.3 points per game in his previous 20.
