To me, this was unbelievable. Absolutely did not see this comeback coming or UT's severe challenges once Abmas was taken out of the game.

Yeah. The fact that we hit our first 10 or so shots of the 2nd half and hadn't dented the halftime deficit was nuts. I did think there might be a slim chance we might keep it up and do what we ended up doing, but I really expected us to kinda run out of gas and fade. What a comeback!

Well coach Terry, I am glad you found time to post here while coaching Texas tonight. But the records don't lie.

The team really found something in their game, in themselves, their "identity" in the second half of the Houston game, and it has carried over. Large early point deficits aren't fazing this team, there's confidence and persistence. Bridges having a prominent role is working for them.

And will someone please tell OldBear83 that people from the Politics/Religion forum do actually follow Baylor sports and read/post in the sports forums too? He's not being "followed".

When Bridges plays like that he's a matchup nightmare for most college teams. The spacing with a guy like that completely breaks defenses. He was excellent v Houston as well
I am the biggest Bridges fan boy on here. He is just so talented and that talent shines when he asserts himself. As I've said all year, he is the X factor for our team. We need him to stay aggressive to reach our potential. When Love returns his assertiveness on the offensive end needs to continue.

Like the Kansas game, Drew and co. made key adjustments that turned the game around. Taking the ball to the hoop earlier in the shot clock got us to the foul line. Not one of those fouls was cheap or disputed. Texas never adjusted to what Baylor was doing down the stretch. Terry will be the last to admit it, as I don't remember him saying anything nice about us, but he got schooled.

In the first half, UT was getting away with a lot of defensive contact in the paint where the refs were giving them benefit of the doubt for either having defensive position, or maintaining verticality without overtly reaching in.

However, by the time they started to tire in the second half, they didn't get into position in time, or those attempts at verticality turned into reaches, which led to call after call after call on drives inside.

Plus, losing Disu took out one of their main interior stalwarts. Without him, Shedrick and Cunningham had to play extended minutes, which led to Shedrick tiring out and Cunningham going on a foul-a-minute spree. Eventually, they had no defense left with which to stop us.

This is the story. You can complain about officiating if you want, but you didn't score a basket for 10 mins in the second half.

When Bridges plays aggressive we will win 90 percent of those games. His driving to the basket is so incredibly difficult to guard for a smaller 2/3 and larger 4/5.

Not to mention the 3 or 4 non-calls on Abmas when he reached in from behind after being beat on defense.
Terry is an idiot. He should have run every offensive set the last 10 minutes through Abmas. Dude was on a serious heater - and we had to double team him/hedge. Abmas would have certainly created much better shots for his teammates than long jumpers from Hunter and Cunningham. Thank heaven Texas deferred to their brick-layers down the stretch.

100%. Also when locked in on the boards and defensively, he get gets so many blocks and deflections when playing with an edge. Easily our best two-way player and not really close. I think sometimes he plays like he has to pace himself to battle fatigue. He basically needs to play the entire game with no viable option to spell him more than a couple minutes.

That kind of blows my mind because whatever their record is, Kentucky has been funneling kids to the NBA for years, but I hadn't paid attention to trends outside of Baylor the last few years.

My name is Seth. I'm not coach Terry. If you don't find it at least mildly disturbing that it took an historic 3pt performance to beat UT and that the win was just business as usual, then I guess we'll disagree. UT is the one team apart from maybe Houston I just don't want to play, in part because they may have that one player who is the best player on the court. And notice how things changed after
Disu went to the locker room. After that occurred, we were able to stop them. Before then we had gotten hot offensively but we're still bad defensively. There's a reason I said what I said. UT may not be best in Big 12 and I'll admit that I overshot things there. But playing them is not on my list of favorite activities.

He's 100% correct. Baylor's player development is top notch. Facilities top notch. Student support top notch.

Could be on the precipice of something even more amazing over the next decade.

No. Im a Baylor grad, law school drop out who deals in vinyl records. I make less money than Seth Davis. I am glad that CSD almost always manages to play his best ball this time of year.

Much appreciation to Fran, who began talking up Drew and the program before anyone at the National level. For those that remember, one of a litany of unfair criticisms of Drew in the first decade he was here was that top level players would not get the development they would get at the elite schools. I remember that comment going out when Perry Jones and Quincy Miller fell in the NBA draft. I think we can check another one off as debunked!

Why does he say needed every call. We won by 8. What am I missing here? Is there a single call that could get a team 8 points?

No treatment needed. At least not this week. Maybe next week. I still find it hard to believe that there aren't a couple of people on here who are not comfortable with the fact we had to shot 70 pct from 3 and that a key player had to go to the locker room before we pulled ahead. If I'm the only one, so be it.
