Report: Baylor Assistant John Jakus to become Florida Atlantic Head Coach
Florida Atlantic is set to hire Baylor assistant John Jakus as the Owls’ new head basketball coach, per Jon Rothstein.
Jakus is set to replace Dusty May, who recently accepted the Michigan head coach position after guiding the Owls to back-to-back NCAA Tournaments, including a trip to the Final Four in 2023.
Jakus joined Scott Drew’s staff as an assistant in 2017 and has spent the last seven seasons with the Bears. Prior to that, he spent three seasons as Gonzaga's director of operations and was a graduate assistant at Baylor from 2012-2014.
