Green & Gold Game at McLane Stadium Canceled

WACO, Texas -- Due to the threat of inclement weather for the Central Texas area, Baylor football’s Green & Gold Game on Saturday at McLane Stadium has been canceled. 

Baylor will now hold its final spring practice of the season on Saturday at the Allison Indoor Practice Facility. The event will be closed to the general public due to limited space available and on-going construction for the Fudge Football Development Center and the Allison Facility.

Something's rotten in Denmark when one of the fundamental tenets of coaching is overcoming adversity and then an outdoor practice is canceled because the weather may be adverse. Yes, or no? There's a message being sent, and it isn't one that fosters a winning mentality or a fanbase mentality of supporting the team in fair weather and foul.

Texas and Texas Tech have also cancelled their spring games that were set for tomorrow. Tech's was even scheduled in Midland with all sorts of special arrangements. It wasnt just come out to our stadium and watch kind of deal. There must be some hellacious weather coming.

Mack, through one of us his underlings who reads here, got the idea from the board here to cancel the free side (the spring game) and force everyone to get a premium (season ticket) membership).

well they are practicing as usual, however how many fans were going to show up in the rain. I for one wasnt. Furthermore it was not a tru Green and Gold game. I heard stuff like 7 on 7 and 7 on 9 being done. Doesnt really give you a feel for the team. Just like the opponents we will all be surprised (hopefully in a good way) of how this offense will look come fall

LOL!! Just watched highlights from both the Longhorns and Aggies Spring games on the evening news. I really miss Big Boy Football at Baylor.

Was near ut campus today and they had the Spring Football Game and baseball going on. Appeared to be a huge crowd at the Spring Football Game. Yes a Spring Football Game, even in the wait for it, rain. Spring Football Games are still a thing at some schools.

They had announced earlier in the week it was moved indoors. I guess they changed their mind.

The bad stuff hit Waco at about 7-8 last night. I guess the forecasts were off about the time. Nevertheless if we had the Homecoming Game scheduled for a 7 pm kick off, it would have been delayed for hours due to lightning.

Didn't we do something yesterday but indoors?

The Mrs wanted to go to the Texas game. They do a good job with music and festival all day so hate away, it was fun.
And the freshmen playing 4th quarter…glad we don't have to play them. Arch is legit. That kid is amazing. Sark's job is going to be on the line if Texas doesn't dominate this year because it is overwhelmingly evident Manning is faster, stronger, more accurate, more calm and decisive and bigger arm than Ewers.

Sad our boys were intimidated by a chance of light rain. I hope BU isn't done playing man football.

Good post. I don't think "our boys" were intimidated. It was the AD and HC who chickened out which isn't surprising. They could have played the game and had weather delays or cancellation if necessary but cancelling based on forecast weather is chicken.
