Should Baylor's Defense Play More Aggressively on the Perimeter?

Frequent poster and Baylor basketball knower Hobb Howell recently noted after attending a practice, “Defensively, we should be better than last year, but I do not think this will be a Top 25 defense. We were disruptive and active on the perimeter (had a few fast break steals). But there is no rim presence. If we do morph into a plus defense this year, it will likely have to be because the sum is ultimately greater than the parts.”

That can be a bit concerning.

In your face defense sounds like a winner for me considering how much depth we have especially on the perimeter

We tried guarding tight on the perimeter last year but opposing guards went right around Walter and Nunn. Love is an awful defender. They couldn't stay in front of their man or get around screens. Nunn has potential to be decent hopefully he will be better next year.
