After another week of disappointment for the Baylor football program, it’s been difficult to find topics to discuss this week. It appears that everyone is tired of the Bears' repetitive mediocrity.
You’ll find those pumping out hopes of Baylor still finding their way into a bowl game this season, which is ironically possible, but for the most part, the reality is finally coming to fruition in Waco.
The Bears just don’t have the talent and depth to compete week in and week out in the Big 12, which once again ranks them at the bottom of the conference with Houston and Kansas. According to the week seven SP+ Rankings by ESPN, Baylor is currently ranked No. 60 out of all 134 FBS programs. Here is a look at Kelley Ford’s Big 12 Projections.

Dave Aranda continues to struggle to get his team to play a complete game. It’s baffling, honestly, but Baylor is now 2-13 in its past 15 Big 12 games. Outside of beating teams they pay to come to play, except Texas State, the Bears can’t win meaningful games.
This past week's blowout loss to Iowa State was just more confirmation of how far behind this program truly is. It landed Aranda in the ugly section of Heartland College Sports' ‘Good, Bad and Ugly’ in week six of the Big 12.

Baylor (2-4, 0-3) will now get a week off to lick their wounds and try to find some hope of finishing out the season strong. The Bears will be back in action on Saturday, October 19, as they head to Lubbock to face Texas Tech (5-1, 3-0) at Jones AT&T Stadium for a 3 p.m. kickoff on ESPN2.
