We lead for less than 6 minutes, if you think we deserved that win the way we played you don't watch much basketball. That was luck.

The Cincinnati Bengals and New Orleans Saints have led their games longer than the Kansas City Chiefs. Their combined record is 8-14.

St John's is a legit opponent, and we only lead at the end, that's what counts.

I can't remember the last time we win by a buzzer beater.

I remember surviving one against Iowa State last season.

It's about which team has the lead when the game is over. For example, we deserved to beat Colorado in football, but didn't.

I wanna say we had a game last year we were down 19 at 1 point and got the dub. Can't for the life of me remember who the opponent was

We were down big to Texas in Waco and won. We were down big to Houston and lost in OT.

This is going to be a special team. The way all the team came together for the interview with Roach was pure JOY. Laughing, cheering, positivity. There's a long way to go but the foundation is there.

Question for the fanbase:
Most impressive win of the Drew era since the natty?
Villanova in Waco
Baylor defense effectively shut them down with the lowest score under Wright. Collin Gillespie was held to 6 points.

Tenn or UVA?
I'm hoping for Tennessee because they are ranked. It's better for our resume.

We've played 5 games and 3 of them were against ranked teams. I don't think anyone else can say that. Yes, it's disappointing that we are 2-1 in those games but as bad as that loss was, it might pay dividends later.

- Celestine was exactly what we all need for him to be the entire season. 4-5 on threes.

- Josh O has to give the team something. Norchad can't do everything....or can he?!

- I absolutely love Wright. He was fantastic tonight other than that huge TO in OT. He's struggled sometimes against those hard presses, but I think he overcomes that easily with some experience.

- Glad to see LL back out there. Hopefully he made it thru the night feeling good.

-I'm not even close to being down on VJ like a lot of people in this game thread were tonight.

You, my friend, are both an astute and loyal fan. We live and die with our Bears.

75 years old and screaming like a banshee.

Go Bears.

Scott Drew is a gift, and a magician.

Didn't get to watch the game tonight but saw that Love got 16 minutes (saw that he went 0-3) - how did he look moving around on the court?

Give Roach credit for the game winner but Norchad Omier just played one of the most impressive games I've ever seen in a Baylor uniform. He literally was battling 3 bigs inside the entire game almost entirely by himself and just kept taking it at them time and time again and scoring. The start of the game was a little puzzling with him at the top of the key taking 3's but once he settled he basically just took over the game physically.

We could lose anyone else on the team and it would hurt us but if we lost Norchad the season would basically be over.

He was a man among boys in the paint. That dude is a load in the paint.

We are the only big 12 team to win tonight. Oklahoma State goes down to FAU.

TT Missed a last second shot and ends up losing by a point to St. Joseph's

I remember losing to Mississippi State in a buzzer beater & recall the Frogs getting one in Ft Worth in 2021 to close out the first half. This is the first time I recall us winning. That probably says more about my memory than anything else!

This is a pretty funny thread to read if you didnt watch the game...

Pre 8:50 pm: we suck. Drew sucks. Roach sucks. We cant shoot. We cant finish.

8:50 pm+: OMG! Clutch! ROACH! Drew the Magician!

Lol. Thanks guys!

Scott Drew has given Baylor something no one else has ever done. He is, on so many levels, the greatest coach in our history. Thank you coach. You stayed. You succeed. We are forever grateful.

Still processing what I saw last night. Good thing I recorded the game and can watch the end of regulation and the OTs over and over because it's going to take awhile.

Roach is never in position to be the hero if he just makes his mundane free throws down the stretch…But I would never need to watch over and over and over to process that.

You could definitely tell he's not 100% - looked at least a step slow to me. He also didn't score. At least contributed those minutes in what would become a grueling physical double overtime game

I agree with all of these. But I think we all need to accept that Josh O is what he is. He is a Thamba clone and will never be more than a big body who can set decent screens and and provide minimal paint protection. Any higher expectations for him will only result in disappointment.

Wright is terrific but he missed several defensive rotations resulting in uncontested 3s. For all the criticism thrown VJ's direction, Wright is making his share of freshman mistakes as well. I love them both though and am glad they are Baylor Bears.

I was screaming for them to take VJ out with him limping, but I didn't realize Celestine had fouled out.

I hope it's just a cramp.

VJ at 80% is still more athletic than most at 100%. And lets not forget his contested clutch 3 before Roach's.

It was pretty nuts that he couldn't throw it in the ocean with open looks the rest of the game, but he made that one with a defender all over him. Anyway, yes, it was definitely clutch.

As great as Roach was with the last shot, it would have been meaningless without VJ's 3 just before it. Edgecombe's going to be fine... he was back home, and tried way too hard for the home folks early on.

Wright was pressing too. He over-penetrated several times and forced up shots that either got blocked or had not chance of going in. Wright also missed several defensive assignments.

Edge and Wright are freshman with huge talent, but they will need time to adjust to the physicality of the college game. Fortunately they appear to be team players who are smart with a work ethic and who want to win. They will keep improving each and every game, similar to Missi last year. We are fortunate to have them.

I'm not saying fire him I'm saying this team is a first weekend team until Drew decides to build basketball teams again, instead of chasing underwhelming 5 stars and going for high profile transfers over developing guys. He's betrayed the model that brought him success for the Calipari model which clearly doesn't work in this era.
Obviously CSD can't coach. That's what you're saying???

So how is your life in College Station these days?? Or is it Austin?
