Northwestern safety Devin Turner has committed to Baylor following his official visit on Monday. He chose the Bears over TCU and Missouri.
The 6-foot-1, 215-pound prospect has posted 130 tackles, four interceptions and eight pass breakups over the past two seasons. He collected All-Big Ten honorable mention honors this fall.
Turner’s improvement from last season to this year was very encouraging and intriguing. Per Pro Football Focus, he raised his overall defensive grade from 67.9 to 77.4, his pass rush grade from 52.3 to 83.1, and his coverage grade from 58.4 to 79.2.
Turner would fit well in Baylor's secondary as a versatile playmaker with experience playing deep safety and in the box.
He has one year of eligibility remaining.
