Damn. Wright was open, but VJ had a good look. Can't ask for much more than that.

Only 4 TO's tonight. That's 3 in a row where we have handled the ball really well. Hopefully we keep that part going too.

I cannot remember a game in recent years when we won in a buzzer beater. Jared Butler came close against Kansas in 2020 in Waco and TCU had a more than half quart at halftime in FtW in 2021. We still won that one. Maybe my memory is off.

Vj love the dude but a runner 3 with how fast he is.. almost impossible shot. Probably should have gone all the way to tie or gather and shoot.

Another one that slipped away, should have won that game

Roach against StJohns earlier this year?

I winced as I saw Wright open and VJ lifting off on 1 foot, but at that speed I'm sure he didn't see Wright.

Then you need to go check your memory. We beat St. John's this year on a last second buzzer beater by Roach.

Wright looked gut punched, he wanted it and I think he hits it.

Another area where we've improved significantly since the first of this year is FT shooting. 84% tonight.

Omier is a beast and the reason we made the Tourney. Hope he can avoid the brain cramp fouls (like his 4th today) in the NCAA. If he didn't have to sit with 4 fouls for about 5 minutes down the stretch, i think Baylor wins this game.

You may well be right, but we actually did ok during that stretch considering we were basically playing 4 on 5 on the offensive end.

Tech only scored 2 points while Omier was sitting out, but of course those 2 were by Toppin.

During 1 stretch in the final 10 minutes the two teams were a combined 1-16 from the field.

We're finally playing like a legitimate tournament team, which is a positive. But we still can't beat good teams, which places a hard second-round ceiling on this team.

I love the way this group competes and fights. And I love watching Omier and Edgecombe play. But there's so much about the rest of this bunch that frustrates me.

Today was a good effort. We just took too long to cut the deficit from seven to five and then again from five to three. The opportunities were definitely there. We just had too many empty possessions during Tech's field goal drought.

Make half our easy shots and layups and we win by 8-10 points going away.

Norchad's stat line is incredible. 29 points, 15 boards, 2 blocks, a steal and an assist, 12-18 from the floor and 5-6 from the FT line. I am really gonna miss that guy next year.

He was awesome. I love Norchad Omier. But I'm also a sucker for elite back-to-the-basket post play.

I've never gotten the criticism he's taken on this board this year. Take him off this roster, and we're a bottom five Big 12 team.

Omier has taken it up another level. The guy wants it really bad, special game. If Love can give anything and the Euro big has a few decent minutes, this team could do something

There needs to be a Stat for missed shots near the rim that actually hits the rim. This 2025 Baylor team would be the leader.

They handed it to us on a silver platter. Great game though

One more dribble but yeah. Needed to get it up

As I been saying for years now…..layups (and chip shots)

Our guys ROCKET the ball off the backboard. No clue why they can't fix that. Happens every game. Never seen so many missed layups and chippies and and 1 opportunities by a program in my life.

Missed at least 2 front ends of 1 and 1s. And Nunn rattled out a 3 at the half and the wright layup wiped due to a dubious call at best and roach on the hold which took away a likely layup

Refs got way involved in this game

Don't need 4 guys with 4 or y fouls in a game like this. Absurd

True, those hurt, but we hit 16-19 and we're not gonna hit 100%. We were shooting 64.5% from the FT line early in the season so it's nice to see that toward the end of the season we are in the 70% to 90% range for most games now.

Roach and Celestine both had 3's that went in but came out. If only those would have dropped!

Oh well. On to the next one.

I know Omier isn't really a fit but I hope he gets a look in the league. Tough as hell and great rebounder

Tech is going to be a 2 seed, and we proved we can play with a 2 seed on a neutral court. Let's get healthy and shock some people next week!

And he didn't get into foul trouble until later in the game.

If I'm not mistaken, he didn't try any 3s today. Interesting.

I think Edgecombe was going for the win. Another dribble would have taken him inside the 3-point line.

It wasn't a terrible look all things considered. I definitely didn't think we'd be shooting for the win at the end of that game.

I didn't have a problem with the call on Omier. If he doesn't raise and extend his arms, it's a play on. But you can't hold two defenders back with your arms, including the primary defender on the ball-handler, and not get called for a moving screen.

The truth is, we should get called for a lot more moving screens than we do on those drives. You're really not supposed to be able to box defenders out of the play the way our guys are coached to do. But it is rarely called.

Yeah and a 2 would have looked the same but closer ao not many great options. A pass too late risks no shot and you gotta at least get a shot up

Had our chances. Save the best for the next few weeks
