Breaking: Baylor Lands Wyoming Guard Obi Agbim From Transfer Portal

Wyoming guard Obi Agbim has committed to Baylor and becomes the third transfer portal addition for the Bears' 2025 class, joining Tennessee wing Cameron Carr and Oregon State forward Michael Rataj.

Agbim, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound athletic guard, averaged 18 points per game, three rebounds and three assists this season. He shot 47% from the field, 44% from 3-point range and 79% from the free-throw line. He earned the 2025 Mountain West Newcomer of the Year and third-team all-conference honors.

Originally a native of Aurora, Colorado, Agbim spent two seasons at Fort Lewis College, one season at Northeastern Junior College and one season at Metro State before landing at Wyoming. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

Why The Fit Looks Good

Baylor wants longer wingspan guys to pair with rising sophomore point guard Robert Wright III. Agbim was a high-usage player for Wyoming who played in the competitive Mountain West. He has a 6-8 wingspan and is a 3-point maker and bouncy athlete on an upward trajectory as a basketball player.

Agbim has a 114 offensive rating on KenPom. This included 15 games against top 100 opponents. With his athletic ability, length, quickness and work ethic, he should be a great defender. There’s no question that Baylor needs to get longer and more athletic on the wings. Agbim, Carr and five-star freshman Tounde Yessoufou should be upgrades in that area.
