Baylor redshirt senior defensive lineman Jackie Marshall has accepted an invitation to play in the East-West Shrine Bowl, signalling that he likely no longer has any remaining collegiate eligibility.

After redshirting his true freshman season in 2021 and missing the entire 2023 season with an ACL injury, it was thought that Marshall could get a medical redshirt and have an additional year of eligibility in 2026, but that was not the case, a source told SicEm365.

It's a tough loss for us, as DL are one of the most expensive position in the portal market and this is one more spot we have to backfill.


That said, best of luck to Jackie. He's been a lion-hearted warrior and leader for us. With his injury history I don't blame him for wanting to go ahead and enter the draft now rather than risking complete career derailment via another injury setback in a final college season.
