McNamee has his work cut out for him. This athletic department is stuck in the mud right now, and it's hard to see a pathway out.

My interest level in Baylor athletics is at an all-time low right now. Between the current college sports landscape and our general futility, the give-a-**** tank is getting harder and harder to fill.

Don't know how old you are, but I've probably been around at least a few decades more. My interest has never wavered much above or below the same level, which is pretty high. The only thing that has wavered has been how it makes me feel at the time depending on the outcomes.

I have been through the lowest of lows and highest of highs, but I can honestly say my interest has really never wavered. I guess I just don't get overly concerned one way or another as I have seen periods where others saw doom and gloom and it eventually worked out OK. Seen other times when there was euphoria and I knew that people's expectations were way too high not based on the facts.

I guess where I am right now with football is just a wait and see how it works out. Not really any point of thinking or doing anything else, as there is nothing I nor really anyone here can do about it. I do hope that the new AD can really think outside the box and bring those donors back into the fold.

I inherited a love of Baylor from my dad, so I've been a fan pretty much my entire life. Some of my earliest memories were watching late-era Teaff teams at Floyd Casey Stadium and bad Darrel Johnson and Harry Miller basketball teams at the Ferrell Center.

My interest level isn't tied to our performance as much it is that the new landscape has taken all joy and incentive out of living and dying with a struggling program. If we were sucking and building toward something better, I'd be fine. There's reason to invest there. But now, you're just trading one bad roster for a new one and nothing means anything or gets built on any sort of lasting foundation.

I didn't sign up for a year-to-year sport. I signed up for a four- to five-year process, and that no longer exists. It is what it is. I'll just divest and become a more casual Baylor fan. I'll enjoy the good years, check out during the bad ones and understand that nothing means anything in modern college sports.

The days of watching a championship program be built over time are over. Now it's just a year-to-year, team-to-team game, and I'm far less interested in that. I'll watch the games because they're still entertaining, but it's a cheapened version of the sport(s) I fell in love with and a far less fulfilling experience for me personally.
