Liberty guard Brett Decker has committed to Baylor via the transfer portal; he becomes the first portal commit the Bears have landed this cycle.

The 6-3, 190-pound sophomore guard averaged 16.9 points last season and was one of the best shooters in the country, making 47 percent of his 3-point attempts this season.

He scored in double-figures in 31 of the 34 games he played in and had 11 20-plus point performances. He also made at least three 3-point shots in 21 games this season.

He has two more seasons of eligibility remaining.

Watched some highlights. Great shooter, works to get the open shot. Drives paint and has that nice one hand soft high off the backboard lay up past BU guards had. A little Rob W kind of style. More please!

We'll see.

Obi Agbim shot almost 44 percent from 3 in the Mountain West and it didn't translate to the Big 12. And the Conference USA is a much worse basketball conference.

I like that Decker has a couple of years left, though. I hope he can be that stone-cold sniper we've been missing since the title team.

He's got a quick release. Doesn't need much space to get his shot off.

Celestine was supposed to be a 3-point assasin and look how that translated. I am in wait-and-see mode after the past couple of years.

I think it's a good pick up if he's meant to be the 7th or 8th man. Just don't count on a good defender or playmaker.

Release is so much better than JJ's (I know you didn't mention him but he's supposed to fill that role). While he was playing at a lower level, having that great % at high volume bodes well. Celestine was on pretty low volume throughout his college run.

Just can't ask him to do a ton.. but that's the staff's responsibility.

I love how we have a podcast trying to call out all the reasons why he picked Baylor over others…..um, it's $$$$$$

It'll be a good pickup if he can continue to score at that pace.
