BREAKING: Baylor lands 2019 safety Tyrone Brown

Baylor landed a commitment from Atascocita defender Tyrone Brown‍ (6-3, 200) on Monday morning over Texas A&M. Brown, who could play safety or eventually transition to linebacker because of his size and athleticism, received an offer from Baylor on March 20.

Since that time, Brown picked up an offer from Houston (March 24) and the Aggies (April 11). He also went on a visit to Texas A&M this past weekend before deciding to commit to Baylor.

Brown is now the 4th member of Baylor 2019 recruiting class joining Jaylen Ellis‍ , TJ Franklin‍ , and Hakeem Vance‍ .

His film reminds me of Aiavion Edwards. Seems like with some time and development he could turn into a really nice player. Welcome to BU!

.86 on 247, seems kinda diamond in rough as right now his only offers were from UH and A&M.

100% agree, when I mean diamond in rough he may not be getting nearly as much attention as he deserves. It stinks for a lot of these kids that, if they can't afford money wise or time wise to go to all these Nike/Under Armor/All American camps, they get lost in the spotlight and these grading systems will reflect that. Stars are very important, but some of that ranking system is just having the money/ability to be exposed at all these camps.

The camps are free and Under Armour even gives them a new pair of shoes for attending, but driving from Beaumont to Spring last weekend might not have been possible or Beaumont to Katy for the Nike event in March.

4/29 is the Nike event in Dallas. Should be another fun event to cover.

Good deal my mistake. I assumed a lot of these camps were pay to go, but i was wrong.

No, many camps are pay, but not Nike, Army, or Under Armour. Kids pay at school camps, but the payoff could be a scholarship.
