How Baylor's offense would rate if NCAA Football still existed
NCAA Football by EA Sports hasn't been around since it was released for the final time in 2013, but the games lives on with the recreation of rosters by committed individuals every single season.
While many have attempted to recreate the Baylor roster for this fall, SicEm365 decided it was only appropriate to provide our own "expert opinion" on the matter.
Today we take a look at Baylor's 2018 offense in the first of a two-part release. We will look at the defense at a later date.

Quarterback | Overall | Throw Power | Accuracy | Speed | Awareness |
Charlie Brewer | 86 | 80 | 89 | 84 | 80 |
Jalan McClendon | 78 | 82 | 75 | 76 | 80 |
Gerry Bohanon | 75 | 84 | 75 | 86 | 65 |
- It's no surprise to see Charlie Brewer as the top quarterback on Baylor's roster. The Big 12 Freshman of the Year returns for his sophomore season and with his 68 percentage completion percentage it makes sense why we placed his accuracy so high.
- Jalan McClendon, graduate transfer from NC State, will provide some depth at the position.
- And the four-star true freshman Gerry Bohanon comes in with a solid 75 rating with his unique athletic ability.
Running Back | Overall | Speed | Agility | Accel. | Br. Tackle | Catching |
JaMycal Hasty | 82 | 90 | 93 | 90 | 80 | 75 |
John Lovett | 78 | 88 | 86 | 88 | 78 | 72 |
Trestan Ebner | 78 | 92 | 88 | 94 | 70 | 78 |
Abram Smith | 71 | 84 | 85 | 86 | 74 | 68 |
Craig Williams | 69 | 89 | 90 | 88 | 60 | 63 |
- There is some solid depth at the running back position but not a lot of proven experience.
- Hasty was injured for a significant portion of last season but when he is healthy he is the most talented back on the roster.
- Lovett and Ebner played big minutes last season and as you can see both have very good attributes and will see the field a lot this year. Smith redshirted last year but he had a lot of hype coming into last season. Craig Williams round out the depth chart as a talented freshman who has plenty of potential.
Wide Receiver |
Overall | Speed | Agility | Accel. | Catching |
Denzel Mims | 91 | 91 | 88 | 91 | 86 |
Jalen Hurd | 90 | 93 | 92 | 95 | 80 |
Chris Platt | 88 | 96 | 91 | 97 | 84 |
Pooh Stricklin | 80 | 85 | 88 | 88 | 87 |
Gavin Holmes | 77 | 87 | 89 | 86 | 76 |
Tony Nicholson | 75 | 86 | 89 | 86 | 80 |
RJ Sneed | 75 | 85 | 84 | 85 | 75 |
Kalon Barnes | 74 | 96 | 93 | 98 | 68 |
Jared Atkinson | 73 | 84 | 82 | 88 | 72 |
Tyquan Thornton | 73 | 91 | 82 | 92 | 70 |
Josh Fleeks | 70 | 84 | 88 | 86 | 70 |
Jackson Gleeson | 69 | 89 | 80 | 88 | 68 |
- The best position group on the team with the two best players on the roster with Denzel Mims and Jalen Hurd. Two very good athletes that reached their ratings in different ways.
- Mims is the complete receiver whereas Hurd has a ton of ability after the catch. Platt is also rated very highly because of his athletic ability. After that it is a ton of depth and some talented young players that are all very similar ratings wise.
Tight End | Overall | Speed | Catching | Blocking |
Tyler Henderson | 74 | 78 | 77 | 70 |
Jamie Jacobs | 72 | 71 | 70 | 75 |
Ben Sims | 70 | 77 | 72 | 73 |
Christoph Henle | 69 | 70 | 75 | 74 |
Bralen Taylor | 67 | 81 | 72 | 60 |
- No returning experience at this position so the Bears will be relying on young talent and a former defensive end. These players could end up better than their ratings especially Tyler Henderson but we have not seen it on the field yet.
- Lots of solid freshman with Sims, Henle, and Taylor should see some playing time.
Offensive Line | Overall | Strength | Blocking | Awareness |
Jake Fruhmorgen | 82 | 86 | 86 | 80 |
Blake Blackmar | 80 | 94 | 83 | 83 |
Josh Malin | 78 | 85 | 83 | 79 |
Pat Lawrence | 77 | 90 | 81 | 83 |
Sam Tecklenburg | 75 | 80 | 79 | 80 |
Johncarlo Valentin | 75 | 88 | 78 | 75 |
Xavier Newman | 74 | 81 | 77 | 76 |
Christian Beard | 74 | 87 | 79 | 75 |
Khalil Keith | 72 | 86 | 76 | 70 |
Connor Galvin | 72 | 80 | 80 | 70 |
Eleasah Anderson | 70 | 85 | 75 | 72 |
Henry Klinge | 70 | 86 | 70 | 70 |
Ryan Miller | 70 | 86 | 70 | 70 |
- The final group on offense is the offensive line and this group has a ton of players that have very similar ratings.
- With the addition of Clemson transfer, Jake Fruhmorgen, Baylor bolsters the line a little bit but the Bears have a lot of work to do still up front.
- Lots of similar player from a talent perspective but until production is shown on the field the ratings are about right. The true freshman Connor Galvin made the roster and comes in at a solid 72 before the start of the season.
