If Mason is gonna be injured like he has for the past 2 years, this team is deeply flawed. There is no level headed, seasoned ballhandler or leader to takeover and control tempo. We simply let the game get away from us.

For anyone wondering why we're a consensus preseason number 9 pick in the Big 12, I guess we just found out why. After watching that fiasco, my main question is how did we avoid being number 10?

I don't know why this loss doesn't bother me. Didn't we have 2 starters out? Looked like he played a whole slew of people. Looked out of sorts but at the sAme time I saw some players that can create.

This team will finish top 5 in conference. Book it.

If Mason isn't able to play (and, based on his history, the probability of him playing every conference game continues to look remote), this team's makeup lends itself to be a prime candidate for that 10 spot.

For a little perspective....in 2014 Texas Southern beat Tom Izzo's #25 at the time Mich St team early in the season.

Mich St that year went on to post a 27-12 record and reached the Final Four before losing to eventual champ Duke.

Not saying we have the FF in our future...but suffering an early season upset is no reason to panic.

No putting lipstick on this pig. I feared all along this was going to be a lost season. Started with Lindsey going down for the year and now you factor in our best player being suspended for SIX games out of the blue and Mr. Glass already missing games and sure to miss more and you're looking at a long, long year ahead. We were picked 9th for a reason and that was when we had a full and healthy roster.

All that said, you DO NOT lose to a SWAC team at home. Best news this 2018/2019 season may very well come off the court from signees for future seasons. I don't know, they could very well find their way after this but the Kegler suspension has taken a lot of wind out of my sails.

Kegler and Mason not playing is much more concerning to me than the loss. Losing to a TSU is rrally bad, but doesn't doom the season, not even close. This is the type of team that will grow up a lot through the season. Lots of new faces. We've seen Drew teams hit their stride during February too many times to throw in the towel at 0-1.

I agree. I don't think anyone knows what to expect. It could be exciting if everything clicks after a while but this game shows a plethora of red flags (turnovers, health, FT shooting, etc).

It's worrisome that we'll be in December before Kegler returns but, yes, we've seen Drew teams click as late as February so it's probably best to go in expecting the unexpected and just enjoy whatever highs will come. There is talent here but I'm tempering expectations a bit and will be very happy if we can get into March again.

The Kegler suspension will slow the team's ascension to overdrive, but they'll get there. We could argue it's already cost us a game.

It's really concerning, however, that Mason is already hurt and unable to play game 1, and who knows how long.

He blows a big lead, more TO's than assts, still cannot effectively inbounds the ball under pressure (go get a coaching book) , the team can't make even half their free throws. He's the Head Coach for crying out loud. These were the problems last year that you thought would just magically go away. So,I ask, what's Drew doing in practice?I analyze while you and 8084 just call people dumb.

Some on here have analyzed it, and Drew isn't immune to criticism. What you are doing is acting like this loss is commonplace to low teams like this and using it to bash Drew like he's done nothing of value here. ("Drew's so great." Ummmm yeah, for us he is.) And as boognish has pointed out, a Final 4 MSU team lost to TSU early in the season in 2014. Is Izzo a terrible coach? No and neither is Drew. The loss sucks no doubt and things need to get fixed and get fixed fast, but it does not define Drew or his career here at Baylor as a whole.

A lot of the issues are fixable with good coaching. Better defense to not allow 43% from 3's, better free throws.

With all the turnover and loss, this year will one the most challenging for Drew. But he has shown that he can do it. One game doesn't make a season. If so, just crown Duke the champs now. That was an impressive offensive showing last night by them.
