BREAKING: Baylor lands 2019 Florida safety prospect Cecil Powell

Baylor received a commitment from another out of state prospect when Fort Lauderdale (FL) Piper High School safety Cecil Powell‍ (6-1, 193) gave his pledge to the staff on Monday evening. Powell took his official visit to Baylor from Dec. 7-9. 

He is the 17^th member of Baylor’s 2019 recruiting class.

Powell made the move from linebacker to safety as a senior after transferring to Piper High School and it paid off in a big way for his football career. He has received two Power 5 offers, Baylor and Indiana, plus many group of five offers. Baylor offered Powell on Oct. 29th and that was shortly followed by Indiana on Nov. 2nd.

Powell has also received interest from multiple Power 5 programs that have been waiting to see his new film at the safety position.
