BTW, whitey, you were right on the other thread. This next team (after RGV) scored more than two 2-point baskets. UConn managed ... nine.

How SWEET it is!!!
Such a tremendous victory.
And ESPN gave Baylor some significant coverage great looks of the crowd, excellent interview with Kim (and Cannon) and again with Kalani and Lauren. Even Nell and Andy are throwing bouquets at BU... Historic night at Ferrell!!!

She may be the best freshman in the country. She is a BALLER, so unafraid.

I've made fun of the Lady Bear fanbase in the past. Awesome job Baylor Nation tonight!

Yes, but KM mentioned DiDi defense of Samuelson.

A historic night for Baylor Women's Basketball & Baylor University! 1st ever win vs an AP #1 ranked WBB team! #8 Baylor Lady Bears upset the #1 UConn Huskies, 68-57! StatMan is very proud of Kim Mulkey & the Baylor Lady Bears!

Cox had a rough start but her defense was on point all night. She made me laugh late in the game when she made herself a part of the UConn huddle. Samuelson didn't like that very much and they got into a little scuffle but the ref made it known that Cox was doing nothing wrong. Was pretty cheeky.

I agree, Didi's defense was spectacular. Jackson's as well.

Lord no. Stanford loss will kill us in the polls. ND will go to #1 even though they got hammered by UConn.

Louisville undefeated, so likely they will be #1. Ick.

This coming poll next week may be the weirdest we will ever see. Four teams will likely receive first place votes. Beating UConn in the regular season is so rare that at least some voters will give first place votes. Connecticut will still get some because they are Connecticut. Notre Dame will get some because some voters are lazy and just move everyone up a slot, despite the fact that they got slaughtered by Connecticut. Louisville will get some by virtue of being undefeated, but they haven't really played anyone and I think everyone knows that. They have both Notre Dame and Connecticut coming, so that will change and I think they will fall hard.

More importantly, this pretty much seals a top seed unless something goes severely wrong. There is no one in the conference who should be able to play with us, and even a single loss probably wouldn't knock us off the top line with this win in our back pocket.

My speculation for next week's poll:

1 - Notre Dame
2 - Louisville
3 - UConn
4 - Baylor
5 - Oregon

I certainly agree that we are far and away the best team again this year in conference...however, it is not unrealistic to foresee a down performance on the road and a loss or two possibly...it just is not as easy...as we fans think it is.
